Rootstock Software has released its Summer ’25 Update, introducing an AI-powered ERP Agent, significant financial enhancements, and a new configurable data grid. This update aims to provide users with enhanced control, automation, and intelligence across their enterprise operations.

Rootstock’s Summer ’25 Release focuses on four key areas designed to improve efficiency for product-based companies, particularly manufacturers and distributors. Rick Berger, CEO of Rootstock Software, stated that the company is leading a new phase in ERP by providing capabilities that help manufacturers anticipate market shifts, accelerate decisions, and adapt with agility, moving beyond traditional workarounds and complexity. Robert Rostamizadeh, CTO at Rootstock, highlighted that the release enables modernization, unified data on a common platform, and automation across day-to-day operations, ultimately saving time and boosting productivity in finance, inventory, and manufacturing.

The new AI-Powered ERP Agent, currently in pilot, offers context-aware ERP automation. This conversational agent allows users to streamline core ERP functions directly from the Rootstock ERP home screen. Capabilities include summarizing sales orders and identifying customer buying patterns, viewing and adjusting inventory levels (such as cycle count corrections and reallocations), reflecting scrap adjustments, creating supply orders, triggering replenishment, and searching for or generating new work orders based on real-time needs. This integration aims to reduce clicks, improve accuracy, and enable faster, more informed actions within user workflows.

Financial enhancements in this release strengthen the ERP financial module by streamlining reconciliation, reducing manual effort, and supporting diverse accounting structures. Key improvements include 13th Period Support for configuring a 13-period fiscal calendar, which is common in retail, distribution, and manufacturing sectors for aligning reporting with weekly business cycles. New customer refund flows facilitate Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable (AR/AP) offsets and vendor-to-customer refund processing. The POAP Match screen now supports attaching invoices and other documents, which are carried through to Payable Transactions for audit readiness. General Ledger (GL) user experience improvements include a redesigned view with contextual tabs, smart field groupings, and links to related records, simplifying transaction analysis and reconciliation.

The debut of the Rootstock Grid introduces a modern data experience designed for high-performance data interaction within ERP workflows. This configurable grid architecture offers inline editing, quick record navigation via keyboard shortcuts, personalized filters, columns, and display settings that persist across sessions. Users can work within linked grids for seamless cross-record navigation and select rows across multiple pages while applying advanced filtering and sorting. Robust admin configuration controls allow for tailoring grid behavior and function.

Operational enhancements further strengthen core manufacturing and supply chain processes. Updates include greater Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) Replenishment Control, allowing users to exclude existing supplies and demands when calculating planned transfer or purchase quantities. This provides planners with more flexibility in managing location-level inventory based on desired stocking thresholds. For divisions using Weighted Average Costing, users can now assign multiple subcontract operations to a single routing or work order, eliminating the need for artificial Bill of Material (BOM) levels and simplifying routing structures. Additionally, users can now generate Work Order Traveler printouts for disassembly and labor-only orders, with logic that includes only relevant components and operations, improving documentation and streamlining execution.

The Summer ’25 Release is now available to all Rootstock customers, with continued expansions for grid enhancements, ERP Agents, and financial updates planned for future releases.
