QuSecure Launches QuProtect R3 with Free Reconnaissance Module to Streamline Post-Quantum Cryptography Migration

QuSecure Inc., a quantum-safe security provider, has launched QuProtect R3, a platform designed to simplify the adoption of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and address encryption modernization challenges. The platform introduces a complimentary Reconnaissance module for qualified companies, offering immediate visibility into vulnerable encryption across modern, legacy, and cloud systems.

Traditionally, preparing for PQC has been a lengthy and costly process, often requiring significant in-house expertise. QuProtect R3’s Reconnaissance module aims to reduce the time and expense associated with compiling a cryptographic bill of materials (CBOM) from months to days, allowing security teams to quickly identify and prioritize high-risk systems without operational disruption.

Rebecca Krauthamer, co-founder and CEO of QuSecure, highlighted the platform’s disruptive nature, stating, “Orchestrated Crypto Agility is the automobile of secure communications. QuProtect R3 is that disruptive innovation that simplifies the perceived complexity of PQC and makes it something that takes days rather than years.” She emphasized the company’s belief in making discovery and inventory accessible, which led to making the Reconnaissance tool free to prevent organizations from getting stalled in the initial discovery phase.

QuSecure is recognized for pioneering orchestrated cryptographic agility and has numerous crypto-agility deployments globally. Its customer base spans the U.

S. Army and Air Force, telecommunications and energy sectors, financial institutions, and global cloud services providers. The company’s rapid customer adoption is attributed to its focus on two shifts: addressing cryptographic debt and achieving crypto-agility in response to new PQC mandates.

Cryptographic debt refers to outdated encryption that accumulates over time, increasing vulnerability. QuProtect R3’s Reconnaissance module helps organizations identify and address this debt. Crypto-agility, a core offering from QuSecure, enables dynamic updates to encryption methods across enterprise networks without requiring costly overhauls.

Dr. Anton Chuvakin, security advisor at Office of the CISO, Google Cloud, commented on the varying timelines for PQC readiness but stressed the importance of ensuring encryption and key management are up to date as a foundational step. “Cryptographic debt… does need to be addressed to protect from many types of threats — breaches, ransomware and ultimately the arrival of quantum cryptography,” he said.

QuProtect R3 responds to increasing regulatory pressure, including White House executive orders, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standardization efforts, and international deadlines pushing for post-quantum encryption. Organizations have expressed concerns regarding the cost, time, headcount, and expertise required for this transition. QuProtect R3 is designed to mitigate these concerns, particularly as the threat of cryptographically relevant quantum computers, often referred to as “Q-Day,” approaches.

Traditional security tools often fail to detect hidden cryptographic sprawl and outdated encryption across diverse environments, including cloud, legacy, and edge systems. QuProtect R3 enables organizations to maintain cryptographic hygiene at scale, preparing for evolving security threats, including AI-driven threats, and compliance requirements. The platform identifies and prioritizes quantum-vulnerable cryptography, assisting in the creation of remediation roadmaps and offering active mitigation and real-time reporting from a single platform.

Tom Patterson, emerging technology lead at Accenture Cybersecurity, noted the significant threat quantum computing poses to enterprise security. He stated, “By unifying the discovery and agility processes, Accenture and QuSecure are helping enterprises leverage the new NIST standards to meet today’s encryption challenges and secure their fast-evolving future.”

QuProtect R3 integrates three modules:

* **QuProtect Reconnaissance Module:** Provides continuous discovery and inventory, offering a live inventory of cryptography in use for data in transit. It identifies out-of-policy or vulnerable algorithms, aiding in strengthening security posture and cost-effectively fulfilling CBOM requirements. This module is available free to qualified organizations.
* **QuProtect Resilience Module:** Fortifies networks with cryptographic protection for both modern and legacy systems. Its low-touch integration enables crypto-agility for updating encryption across devices and systems, facilitating PQC migration and zero-trust implementation without disruptions or code changes, even when algorithms are compromised or new standards emerge. When integrated with Reconnaissance, it facilitates a comprehensive, cryptographic-aware migration.
* **QuProtect Reporting Module:** Offers on-demand visibility and control for compliance. It generates a Cryptographic Bill of Materials (CBOM) with a single click, ensuring adherence to evolving standards such as CNSA 2.0, CNSSP 15, and GDPR, and maintaining transparency over cryptographic inventory.

The platform aims to reduce manual cryptographic auditing by simplifying the discovery and cataloging of cryptographic certificates, algorithms, and protocols across distributed enterprise networks and data centers. It also provides visibility into cryptographic practices of SaaS and cloud vendors by monitoring traffic at network gateways, addressing third-party risk management. By identifying problematic cryptographic configurations, such as expiring certificates, unauthorized certificate authorities, or weak encryption protocols, QuProtect R3 helps prevent security incidents and service disruptions.

QuProtect R3 is designed for non-experts, using a standards-based approach to replace weak algorithms, enforce encryption policies, and prepare for both current AI-driven threats and future quantum attacks without requiring infrastructure overhauls or extensive cryptography expertise. As noted in “The Architect’s Guide to Quantum Security” by Forrester Research (2025), “Q-Day will bring profound changes to every area of security. It forces an overhaul of the underlying plumbing of the security technology stack across an organization, as the current foundational building block (cryptography) used for protecting your data will be rendered useless.”

The QuProtect R3 Reconnaissance, Resilience, and Reporting modules are currently available through QuSecure and its partners. QuSecure also offers a price match guarantee for manual migration, and the Reconnaissance module is free for qualifying organizations. The QuProtect R3 platform is available via AWS Marketplace or directly from QuSecure and partners including Accenture, Dell, Cisco, and Carahsoft.
