Qlik Launches Agentic Experience and Model Context Protocol Server for Enterprise AI

Share It:

Qlik, a global leader in data integration, data quality, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI), has announced the general availability of its agentic experience in Qlik Cloud, delivered through Qlik Answers as the unified conversational interface. The company also announced the general availability of the Qlik Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which allows third-party assistants such as Anthropic Claude to securely access Qlik’s analytical capabilities and trusted data products.

This launch addresses the enterprise need for AI deployments that emphasize trust, context, and accountability, moving beyond proofs of concept into production. Enterprises require systems capable of working across structured analytics and unstructured content, preserving business logic, and providing clear explanations of how conclusions were reached. Qlik’s agentic experience is designed to meet these operational demands by combining AI reasoning with context-preserving engine calculations, governed data, and transparent responses for decision workflows.

The agentic experience in Qlik Cloud introduces four core capabilities. Qlik Answers utilizes an agentic framework to deliver analytical insights powered by the Qlik Analytics Engine and grounded answers from curated documents, complete with citations and explanations. The Discovery Agent continuously monitors key measures, identifying significant anomalies and shifts to enable timely action. Data Products for Analytics provide curated, governed datasets with stewardship and quality signals, establishing a reliable foundation for both human and AI analysis. Furthermore, the Qlik MCP server extends Qlik’s capabilities to external assistants like Anthropic Claude, enabling secure insight generation and interaction with governed data via Qlik’s APIs.

Mike Capone, CEO of Qlik, commented on the current business environment, noting that boards are navigating geopolitical volatility, evolving AI regulations, and persistent cost pressures. He stated that enterprise AI must be auditable, governed, and integrated into real workflows. Capone highlighted that Qlik’s agentic experience combines its analytics engine with trusted data products and cited knowledge, while the MCP server makes this intelligence accessible to commonly used assistants, leading to faster, defensible decisions.

Qlik’s strategy aims to facilitate enterprise-wide AI adoption without compromising control. The Qlik Analytics Engine maintains context during calculations, which is intended to provide more accurate reasoning over enterprise data compared to methods that reduce questions to isolated queries. This, alongside governed data products and cited retrieval from curated knowledge bases, offers a practical approach for teams to integrate AI into decisions requiring traceability.

Mike Krut, senior vice president of information technology at Penske Transportation Solutions, acknowledged the value of AI when built on curated, governed, and trusted data. He noted that Qlik’s new agentic capabilities extend existing analytics, connecting insights directly to operational workflows such as fleet performance and maintenance without adding complexity.

Michael Leone, Practice Director and Principal Analytics and AI Analyst at Omdia, pointed out that the transition from copilots to reasoning systems reveals a critical gap in governed context and explainability for many enterprises. He stressed that success now requires linking trusted data directly to operational workflows with full auditability, which Qlik addresses by pairing its analytics engine with MCP, thereby creating an intelligence layer for agents and assistants across ecosystems.

Qlik’s agentic strategy is slated for expansion, with additional agents planned across data pipelines, data quality, and stewardship. The company also intends to support more AI tools and assistants through MCP throughout the year, further extending how teams translate insights into actions while adhering to enterprise governance and risk controls. Customers can procure Qlik through AWS Marketplace under existing AWS agreements.

Qlik Answers agentic enhancements and the Qlik MCP server are generally available now in Qlik Cloud. Discovery Agent and Data Products for Analytics are scheduled for rollout shortly after. Further information and tailored discussions are available on qlik.com/agentic-ai.

Qlik provides trusted data products, a powerful analytics engine, and AI agents to help teams leverage AI with reliable data and control. The company, used by 75% of the Fortune 500, supports customers globally and integrates with existing customer systems and partners, offering flexibility without vendor lock-in.
