Zip, a global agentic procurement orchestration platform, has announced the opening of its new Toronto headquarters at 123 Front Street in the city’s Financial District, marking a strategic expansion that includes plans to nearly triple its local workforce by early 2026.

The new office, four times larger than Zip’s previous Toronto location, positions the company alongside other major technology firms in Toronto’s financial core, directly across from Union Station. This expansion is designed to consolidate all Toronto-based teams under one roof for the first time, fostering enhanced collaboration and mentorship opportunities. The contemporary design features natural materials, height-adjustable workstations, and expanded meeting spaces.

Zip’s move follows a period of growth in both international and Canadian markets, with major Canadian enterprises such as CIBC, Hootsuite, and Stackadapt adopting its platform. The company recently secured a $190 million Series D funding round, valuing it at $2.2 billion. Toronto represents Zip’s second-largest office globally after its San Francisco headquarters, underscoring Canada’s strategic importance to the company’s growth trajectory.

The expansion strategy focuses on three key areas: early-career sales development, building on Zip’s track record of advancing business development representatives into key account executive roles; commercial account executives, to support the company’s rapidly growing mid-market segment; and engineering talent, establishing a new technical hub that has already hired 20 engineers and targets recent graduates and professionals in their first three years post-university. Rujul Zaparde, Zip cofounder and CEO, commented on the company’s approach to talent, stating, “We’ve discovered such incredible sales talent in Toronto who have had remarkable career trajectories at Zip, advancing from business development roles into key account executive positions. Now, we’re incredibly thrilled to be bringing all our Toronto teams under one roof for the first time to foster even stronger collaboration and mentorship.”

Lu Cheng, Zip cofounder and CTO, emphasized the engineering focus, noting that Toronto offers a significant opportunity to build a second major engineering hub. He highlighted the company’s aim to provide direct mentorship from senior engineers to exceptional early-career engineers, including those from institutions like the University of Waterloo. Cheng added, “Our goal is to make Zip a cornerstone of Toronto’s tech ecosystem and the place where exceptional graduates want to start their careers because they know they’ll be set up for long-term success.”

Zip’s Canadian operations have already made substantial contributions to its overall growth, with the Toronto team instrumental in securing major Canadian enterprise clients. The company’s Canadian employee count has seen a 250% year-over-year increase, and it is actively hiring for various roles across sales and engineering, including business development representatives, account executives, and software engineers.

Zip’s platform enables businesses to streamline the procurement process, mitigate risk, and drive growth by unifying teams, tasks, and tools involved in supplier interactions. It is trusted by numerous global enterprises, including AMD, Anthropic, Coinbase, Discover, Dollar Tree, HP, Instacart, Invesco, Lyft, Northwestern Mutual, Prudential, Reddit, Sephora, and Snowflake.
