PointCentral Introduces Industry’s First Online Multi-Credential Z-Wave Long Range Lock Solution for Multifamily

PointCentral, a smart rental property automation platform, has introduced the industry’s first online multi-credential Z-Wave® lock designed for multifamily communities, integrating perimeter access with unit entry.

Developed in collaboration with Yale, part of Fortune Brands Innovations, this new 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range mortise lock merges RFID badge access with Z-Wave remote management. This allows residents to use a single credential, such as an RFID badge, for both community access and their apartment, while property managers can issue PIN codes for self-guided tours, vendors, or residents preferring keypad access.

The lock solution supports RFID access badges, including prox cards, key fobs, and tags. It also offers optional concurrent keypad PIN code access and utilizes Z-Wave Long Range connectivity. The system provides full integration with perimeter access controls and centralized remote management through the PointCentral Dashboard.

Matt Correnti, Head of Enabling Technologies at PointCentral, stated, “This is about simplifying access for residents while giving operators a single, unified, and flexible system to manage. By merging RFID credentials with Z-Wave remote management, we’re pushing the market forward with a lock solution designed specifically for the realities of multifamily living.”

Garrett Lovejoy, SVP and General Manager of Connected Security at Fortune Brands Innovations, commented, “Partnering with PointCentral allows us to bring Yale’s trusted access solutions directly into the multifamily space in a way that is seamless and intuitive for both residents and property managers. We’re excited to help redefine what secure, convenient access looks like for modern communities.”

Unlike traditional access control systems that often require separate infrastructure for perimeter and unit access, PointCentral’s new multi-credential Z-Wave lock integrates directly into its smart property automation platform. This enables property teams to remotely manage credentials, monitor access, and streamline operations from a centralized dashboard. Key benefits include a unified access experience for residents, streamlined resident onboarding, and support for self-guided tours via PIN codes.

The new multi-credential Z-Wave lock is scheduled to be showcased at the Alarm.com booth at ISC West, taking place March 23–27, 2026. A limited early release will subsequently be offered to select multifamily partners. Multifamily owners and operators interested in early access are encouraged to sign up for updates and join the priority list for the initial release by emailing betateam@pointcentral.com.

PointCentral is a smart property automation platform serving multifamily, single-family rental, and short-term rental operators. The company aims to help property owners streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance the resident experience through smart access, automation, and centralized management.
