Orbus Software announced that its cloud-native platform for the US public sector, OrbusInfinity Government, has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) “In Process” status. This milestone positions a secure, dedicated enterprise architecture platform for inclusion in the FedRAMP Marketplace.

FedRAMP authorization is a legal requirement for federal agencies, ensuring that cloud service providers handling federal data meet stringent security standards. While not mandated for state and local governments, FedRAMP often serves as a benchmark for cloud security, with many state and local agencies adopting solutions from the FedRAMP Marketplace to leverage its rigorous controls and streamline their procurement and risk management processes. The “In Process” status is a step towards achieving an Authority to Operate (ATO) and FedRAMP Moderate status, which signifies a solution meets the security requirements for use by federal agencies storing and processing sensitive but unclassified data.

Government departments frequently contend with security requirements that lag the private sector, limited budgets, and legacy technology infrastructure, all while aiming to modernize and expedite service delivery. OrbusInfinity Government, an enterprise transformation platform with core enterprise architecture capabilities, offers a digital blueprint for organizations, assisting in aligning IT investments with mission objectives.

Peter Bates, Chief Product Officer at Orbus Software, stated, “The government sector is grappling with shrinking budgets while addressing ever-expanding security challenges. Cloud solutions provide a way to operate efficiently and adapt quickly. However, agencies need assurance that their mission-critical data and sensitive information are safe. With OrbusInfinity Government designated as FedRAMP ‘In Process’, government organizations now have a trusted platform to successfully manage complex change and drive government IT and operational efficiency.”

Key benefits of OrbusInfinity Government’s FedRAMP status include specialized enterprise architecture capabilities for federal government, enabling agencies to modernize operations, reduce silos, and make informed decisions. The platform supports cost reduction, project acceleration, and maximized impact of transformation initiatives. It also offers robust, end-to-end security controls, being hosted in a secure Microsoft Azure for US Government tenancy, providing real-time threat detection to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with federal security standards.

For federal agencies, the FedRAMP Marketplace streamlines procurement by acting as an approved vendor list, reducing the time and cost associated with vetting cloud service providers and accelerating deployment. State and local government organizations can also utilize the FedRAMP status to simplify their purchasing processes. Additionally, the secure cloud-based platform aids in risk reduction by providing transparency into risks, misaligned priorities, and inefficiencies, enabling departments to develop actionable roadmaps for mitigating cybersecurity risks, tracking compliance, accelerating recovery, and maintaining an auditable trail for decisions.

Oliver Hecquer, Chief Operating Officer at Orbus Software, added, “With cybercrime showing no sign of slowing, government agencies must ensure that data is secure. Now, they can more easily and quickly procure and deploy an innovative transformation platform that meets their comprehensive privacy, security, and compliance needs.”
