OneSpan, a provider of digital authentication and security solutions, has announced a strategic investment in ThreatFabric, an Amsterdam-based cybersecurity firm specializing in mobile threat intelligence and fraud detection, aimed at bolstering its digital fraud prevention offerings.

This investment strengthens OneSpan’s position in digital fraud prevention and will see the company join ThreatFabric’s board of directors and its newly formed Strategic Advisory Board. ThreatFabric’s existing investors include Rabo Investments, Motive Ventures, 10x Founders, and 14Peaks Capital.

Founded in 2015, ThreatFabric protects more than 60 million banking customers worldwide through its layered fraud prevention platform. This platform integrates behavioral analytics, device intelligence, and real-time threat detection capabilities.

The collaboration is expected to enhance OneSpan’s ability to protect financial institutions, particularly in light of the surge in authorised push payment (APP) fraud. The integration of ThreatFabric’s threat intelligence and behavioral risk tools is designed to strengthen defenses against complex attacks that combine malware and social engineering.

Victor Limongelli, CEO of OneSpan, stated, “Our investment in ThreatFabric underscores OneSpan’s commitment to staying ahead of emerging digital threats. Mobile devices are the dominant access point for consumer financial services, leading to the rise in device compromise, malware, and cyberfraud. Partnering with ThreatFabric enhances our capabilities and sets a new standard for protecting customers in a mobile-first world—keeping trust and security at the heart of digital banking.”

ThreatFabric CEO Han Sahin commented, “We are thrilled to welcome OneSpan as a strategic investor and partner. We’re excited OneSpan underwrites our vision: to secure every mobile journey with AI‑driven behavioral biometrics and market-leading advanced malware defense.”
