MSCI Launches New Data and Analytics Solutions for Private Asset and Commercial Real Estate GPs

MSCI Inc. (NYSE: MSCI) has introduced two new data and analytics solutions, Private Asset and Deal Metrics and Real Capital Analytics (RCA) Funds, to equip General Partners (GPs) with advanced insights and enhanced investor engagement capabilities for capital formation and deployment in private asset and commercial real estate markets.

Private Asset and Deal Metrics is built upon private company and deal-level data, encompassing over 26,000 private equity buyout deals, representing $2 trillion in net asset value as of Q2 2025. This solution allows GPs to benchmark performance, validate investment themes, and engage Limited Partners (LPs) with greater confidence.

RCA Funds provides global intelligence on institutional real estate funds, leveraging commercial real estate profiles of more than 1,600 GPs and 800 LPs, alongside data on over 8,000 real-estate funds as of Q2 2025. This tool supports GPs’ fundraising efforts by offering insights into LP investment criteria and strengthens investor relations through transparent fund performance reporting.

A recent MSCI General Partner Survey indicated that more than half of respondents encounter difficulties in identifying attractive deals, with one-third citing fundraising and capital flows as their primary challenges. These new solutions are designed to address data transparency, benchmarking, and decision-making gaps within the capital investment lifecycle.

These launches align with MSCI’s commitment to supporting the GP community, expanding their existing suite of products for GPs, which includes Private Capital Intel—a tool for benchmarking performance against private capital data sourced from LPs—and a recent collaboration with Intapp for enhanced private capital market intelligence.
