Jumpmind Integrates Payments into Customer-Facing Interactive Displays at Retail POS

Share It:

Jumpmind, a provider of retail technology solutions, has announced the integration of payment capabilities within its CX Connect customer-facing interactive display at the Point of Service (POS), a development aimed at enhancing the checkout experience.

This integration allows shoppers to engage with personalized content, loyalty programs, and offers directly on a touchscreen display while also completing their purchases. The system supports self-identification, sign-ups for loyalty programs, personalized offers, product recommendations, and charitable donations. Additionally, it streamlines processes such as private-label credit card applications, repeat delivery orders, and warranty sign-ups by removing traditional friction points.

The move coincides with retailers needing to replace their payment card reader infrastructure in advance of PCI PTS 5 certification expiration. CX Connect’s integrated PCI compliant payment capabilities eliminate the need for a separate payment device, typically used for tapping or swiping. The solution operates on iOS, Android, or Chrome OS tablets and is compatible with various payment providers, including support for Tap to Pay, contributing to a modern and clear counter aesthetic.

Research from Mood Media, based on a survey of 1,000 U.

S. consumers, indicates that checkout areas achieve the highest engagement for digital signage, with 54 percent of shoppers noticing displays in these locations. Half of the surveyed respondents also reported that their purchase decisions are influenced by in-store displays. Despite this, a study highlighted that 65% of retailers believe their current in-store technology does not facilitate their desired customer experience, with POS systems being a specific area of dissatisfaction regarding seamless checkout, digital receipts, and loyalty program integration.

Joe Corbin, CEO of Jumpmind, stated, “Checkout is a crucial part of the in-store experience, but it has remained largely uninspired and undifferentiated. Bringing payments directly into CX Connect allows modern retailers to offer a more seamless, intuitive checkout experience while making the process feel inspired, personalized and rewarding.”

Jumpmind’s CX Connect is currently utilized by retailers including American Eagle Outfitters, Build-A-Bear Workshop, The Vitamin Shoppe, The Paper Store, and Reitmans Canada Ltd., among others.
