Immersive Introduces AI-Powered Lab Builder for Enhanced Cyber Skills Development

Share It:

Immersive, a company specializing in people-centric cybersecurity, has introduced its Immersive One AI-powered Lab Builder feature. This new tool is designed to enhance cyber skills development for organizations globally through customized labs and learning experiences. It supports Immersive’s Prove, Improve, Benchmark, and Report (PIBR) approach, enabling cyber leaders to create hands-on exercises and simulations—including offensive, defensive, and secure-coding scenarios—to improve readiness against real-world threats. This development addresses the significant role of human factors in cyberattacks, which, according to the release, cost global organizations an average of $4.88 million annually.

The Immersive One Lab Builder incorporates an AI agent capable of automatically generating tailored labs. These can include up-to-date threat labs and application security scenarios. Leveraging Immersive’s existing content library, the AI agent aims to accelerate the creation of high-quality, customized labs, thereby reducing the time and effort typically required for manual development. This functionality is intended to help organizations adapt rapidly to evolving cyber threats and upskill their teams.

Thanos Karpouzis, Chief Technology Officer at Immersive, stated, “Our Immersive One platform has gotten even more powerful with our AI-enabled Lab Builder feature, which allows our customers and partners to quickly create tailored learning experiences as part of a holistic cyber readiness program. We’re seeing growing demand for practical, hands-on cybersecurity labs and exercises that mirror real-world scenarios and environments. Leaders gain enhanced agility with hyper-relevant training for their unique use-cases, improving their organization’s overall cyber resilience.”

Lab Builder facilitates customized lab creation, aligning with specific business needs, threat models, and internal systems to strengthen team and individual cyber capabilities. The feature provides flexibility and depth in hands-on learning, allowing organizations to address upskilling needs and demonstrate cyber readiness. For partners, it creates opportunities to deliver bespoke training integrated with cyber simulations, exercises, and complementary services.

The feature offers two primary lab types for both customers and partners:

Theory Labs: These enable the creation of interactive content to build foundational knowledge on cybersecurity policies, concepts, and niche topics within a controlled, browser-based environment.
Practical Labs: These allow subject matter experts (SMEs) to build hands-on simulations using their organization’s tools and environments to validate competency and apply learned skills.

Customers and partners can utilize these labs independently or combine them for multi-activity scenarios, offering a dynamic and customizable solution for developing and measuring employee cyber capabilities across an organization. Key benefits of Lab Builder include structured cyber skills development through custom theory and practical labs within managed learning paths; policy-aligned, audit-ready theory labs for compliance; and real-world practical labs designed to accelerate skills transfer and incident response. The platform also provides comprehensive skills measurement, combining theory checks with practical challenges to deliver metrics on cyber readiness.

This launch follows Immersive’s previous AI innovations, including the AI Scenario Generator introduced in November 2024, which helps organizations create threat scenarios for crisis simulations. Lab Builder is available immediately on the Immersive One platform, which unifies Labs, Cyber Drills, Exercises, and Simulations for continuous, evidence-based practice.

Immersive, based in Bristol, England, and Boston, USA, focuses on helping organizations assess and improve their ability to prevent and respond to cyber threats. The company provides a single enterprise platform tailored to individual roles, aiming to ensure preparedness for evolving threat landscapes, including those influenced by AI. Immersive states its focus on evidence provides visibility into cyber resilience. The company is trusted by organizations such as Citi, Pfizer, Humana, HSBC, the UK Ministry of Defence, and the UK National Health Service. Immersive is backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Summit Partners, Insight Partners, Citi Ventures, Ten Eleven Ventures, and Menlo Ventures.
