Global professional services firm Huron has acquired the payor consulting services division of AXIOM Systems, a healthcare information technology firm, to expand its capabilities in core administration systems and digital transformation for payors and payor-provider organizations.
The acquisition enhances Huron’s position in the payor market and is intended to accelerate the growth of its digital offerings. Mark Hussey, chief executive officer and president of Huron, stated that the AXIOM team brings specialized capabilities that strengthen Huron’s presence in the payor market. He added that the acquisition allows Huron to better serve healthcare clients aiming to modernize their claims platforms and leverage connected data to improve operational performance and member outcomes.
AXIOM’s payor consulting services division provides specialized technology, data, and analytics skills that support core payor operations. These capabilities include claims administration, data transformation, and systems integration. The division’s expertise covers the implementation and optimization of payor core administration processing systems, such as commercially available products like TriZetto’s Facets®, QNXT, and HealthEdge solutions, which are used by healthcare insurers to process claims, manage member data, and integrate with provider networks. This expertise complements Huron’s existing services in healthcare strategy, operations, and digital transformation.
Paul Lythcke, Executive Vice President at AXIOM Systems, commented on joining Huron, stating the move allows them to continue their mission of helping payors modernize and transform operations. He expressed enthusiasm for bringing a broader portfolio of tech-enabled solutions to the healthcare continuum and highlighted a shared culture of technical excellence, integrity, and client commitment.
Approximately 40 AXIOM team members have transitioned to Huron as part of the acquisition. For reporting purposes, AXIOM’s payor consulting services division will be integrated into Huron’s Healthcare operating segment. The terms of the acquisition were not publicly disclosed.
