Harbor Capital Advisors Launches AI Inflection Strategy ETF (EPAI) Focused on Infrastructure and Adoption

Harbor Capital Advisors has announced the launch of the Harbor AI Inflection Strategy ETF (Ticker: EPAI), an actively managed exchange-traded fund designed to identify companies positioned to benefit from global capital spending on AI infrastructure.

The EPAI strategy aims to look beyond a narrow group of high-profile AI companies, focusing instead on businesses involved in building the infrastructure that powers AI and those utilizing that infrastructure to generate economic value. This approach emphasizes current capital expenditure and the development of AI-driven competitive advantages within industries.

The investment framework for EPAI centers on two primary groups expected to benefit from AI-driven investments. The first includes direct recipients of AI capital investment, such as companies whose revenue is linked to the physical buildout of AI-enabling infrastructure, including data centers, energy systems, connectivity, and semiconductor supply chains. The second group comprises beneficiaries of AI-enabled infrastructure, which are established businesses that use this infrastructure to enhance profitability, scale, and competitive positioning.

Kristof Gleich, President and Chief Investment Officer at Harbor Capital Advisors, commented that AI is driving a significant capital investment cycle, but many investors are concentrated in a limited number of stocks. He stated that EPAI is structured to uncover a broader range of companies that are positioned to benefit from actual capital deployment.

EARNEST Partners serves as the subadvisor for EPAI. Their portfolio managers utilize fundamental research combined with operational experience, drawing from backgrounds in leading business units and managing capital allocation. This perspective informs stock selection by focusing on how AI is adopted, scaled, and monetized across various industries.

Gleich further noted that as AI models increase in power, they demand exponentially more infrastructure, including more data centers, energy, cooling, and interconnectivity. He emphasized that EPAI provides targeted exposure to this essential ecosystem, which he believes is often overlooked by other AI portfolios. Harbor Capital Advisors, an asset manager with $67.2 billion in AUM as of December 31, 2025, focuses on curating active ETFs, mutual funds, and collective investment trusts.
