Guidewire (NYSE: GWRE) has launched Olos, its latest release designed to help property and casualty (P&C) insurers modernize their pricing strategies, accelerate rate changes, optimize underwriting processes, and strengthen workers’ compensation performance.
Guidewire PricingCenter, a key component of Olos, unifies the entire pricing and rating lifecycle. This integration aims to eliminate manual handoffs between actuarial, pricing, and IT teams. The platform incorporates dynamic price modeling and impact analysis, along with AI-assisted pricing insights, and offers seamless integration with other Guidewire applications and services.
Dawid Kopczyk, Senior Director of Pricing and Rating at Guidewire, stated, “PricingCenter gives insurers a single platform to model, test, and deploy pricing changes with speed and confidence. By unifying workflows, it empowers actuaries, rating developers, and IT teams to build advanced models and accelerate rate changes from months to days to deliver the best possible pricing to insurance customers.”
The Olos release also introduces Underwriting Assistant, the initial core agentic AI capability within Guidewire UnderwritingCenter. Underwriting Assistant is designed to automate intake, triage, and data enrichment, aiding underwriters in making faster, more confident decisions. Guidewire UnderwritingCenter, currently under development, is envisioned as an end-to-end intelligent underwriting solution that will combine GenAI-powered assistants with smart workflow automation for submission management and risk selection. *Underwriting Assistant is available for Early Access customers only.
Olos further expands workers’ compensation capabilities to enhance claims outcomes for insurers. It enables more granular workers’ compensation claim segmentation, configurable within ClaimCenter, to improve visibility and handling. The release integrates embedded predictive analytics insights on legal, medical severity, payment likelihood, and estimated loss, aiming to optimize return-to-work (RTW) outcomes and control claims expenses.
Additional features within the Olos release include the Guidewire Rules Service, which automates and centralizes business rules management through a visual Rules Designer, allowing for quick adaptation to changing requirements without code changes or deployment delays. **The Guidewire Rules Service is available to a limited number of customers only.
Insurers can also utilize APD Conversion to convert existing insurance product definitions to Advanced Product Designer, facilitating cloud migration. Claims decisions can be strengthened by embedding predictive Claims Intel models into InsuranceNow Analytics workflows, optimizing adjuster assignments, reserve management, and vendor selection. Furthermore, the Guidewire GenAI Service and Agentic Framework support the building, deployment, and management of secure, context-aware AI agents for complex tasks across the insurance lifecycle. *The Guidewire GenAI Service and Agentic Framework are available for Early Access customers only.
Diego Devalle, Chief Product Development Officer at Guidewire, commented, “With Olos, insurers unlock a new era of intelligence and agility. The release enables insurers to update rates faster, strengthen claims decisions, and accelerate team response times, providing a better experience for policyholders.”
