Grant Thornton, a prominent professional services brand, and Auxis, a specialist in Latin American outsourcing and business modernization, have announced they will join forces through Grant Thornton’s acquisition of Auxis. This transaction is set to enhance Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, the US-based entity providing advisory services in strategy, transformation, and operations, including M&A, technology, finance, operations, sales and marketing, data, AI, cybersecurity, and risk, alongside tax services.
Auxis, founded in 1997, is known for its tech-enabled nearshore-outsourcing services covering finance, information technology, human resources, customer service, and specialized industry solutions. The company supports Fortune 1000 and upper-middle-market organizations across sectors like consumer packaged goods, retail, restaurants, healthcare, and financial services. Auxis was an early adopter of nearshoring for US companies, a strategy that leverages Latin America’s talent, real-time collaboration, and cultural alignment. Its outsourcing services are supported by an award-winning AI and automation practice, recognized by UiPath as a “Partner of the Year” and an “Agentic Automation Fast Track Partner,” and by analyst firms such as Everest Group and ISG for its transformation and outsourcing capabilities.
Upon integration with Grant Thornton, Auxis will be able to offer a broader portfolio of services with a multinational reach, empowering clients to utilize outsourcing destinations across Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. This acquisition aligns with the rapid expansion of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC’s multinational platform, which has recently integrated firms in Ireland, the UAE, Switzerland/Lichtenstein, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands, and the Channel Islands.
Jim Peko, CEO of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, stated that bringing Auxis into the Grant Thornton platform is a “milestone moment,” citing Auxis’s shared services, nearshoring expertise, and tech-enabled solutions as a natural fit that will deepen client engagement and enhance offerings with speed, scalability, and quality. Tom Puthiyamadam, managing partner for Advisory Services at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, added that clients seek consultants who deliver “bold solutions with agility, smart technology, practical innovation and quantified impact,” emphasizing that Auxis’s talent, tools, and nearshoring model will strengthen Grant Thornton’s vision for an AI-powered, human-insight-grounded advisory practice.
The deal expands Grant Thornton’s footprint by adding Auxis’s team of more than 1,400 skilled, multilingual professionals primarily based in Costa Rica and Colombia, with headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and supporting hubs in Mexico and Guatemala. Raul Vega, CEO of Auxis, noted that joining Grant Thornton provides the scalable platform needed to help clients modernize their operating models in a dynamic business environment. Vega will join the leadership team for Advisory Services at Grant Thornton, reporting to Puthiyamadam, while Auxis’s existing leadership will continue overseeing current client operations. The transaction is subject to standard closing conditions and is expected to close later this year.
