GMO GlobalSign and Swiss-based ID-Security are celebrating nearly ten years of collaboration, delivering integrated Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services and advanced certificate lifecycle management (CLM) solutions to organizations.
The strategic technology alliance has centered on the integration of GMO GlobalSign’s Atlas platform with ID-Security’s CEMA solution. This integration provides robust, scalable, and automated identity and certificate lifecycle management. Atlas, serving as an engine for identity and PKI services, seamlessly provisions CEMA’s CLM capabilities with publicly trusted and private TLS or Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) certificates. This enables identity-based security, forming the basis for a zero-trust model.
Thomas Weber, Managing Director at ID-Security, noted the increasing complexity of certificate management due to shorter certificate lifespans, a growing number of endpoints, and compliance requirements, which make manual processes unsustainable. He stated that the market requires scalable and automated solutions. ID-Security’s managed services for CipherMail and the CEMA CLM platform facilitate rapid and cost-efficient customer onboarding. When combined with GMO GlobalSign’s Atlas API, this creates a modern, user-friendly toolset that meets current automation demands, accelerates integration, and delivers immediate operational value.
The collaboration is further enhanced by the inclusion of Dutch email security provider CipherMail’s Secure Email Gateway, which adds secure email encryption and policy enforcement. The combined offering—ID-Security’s CEMA, CipherMail’s Secure Email Gateway, and GMO GlobalSign’s Atlas platform—allows customers to directly request and distribute TLS and S/MIME certificates as needed. This facilitates an easy-to-deploy PKI-based zero-trust model and provides a comprehensive end-to-end solution for email security, which is critical given the rise of email-based phishing attacks.
Andreas Brix, Senior Program Manager at GlobalSign, highlighted the customer demand for unified certificate management solutions. He confirmed that the collaboration and seamless integration among GMO GlobalSign, ID-Security, and CipherMail deliver a combined solution offering CLM features, email signing, and encryption within a streamlined interface. This ecosystem simplifies compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies while reducing the risk of data breaches and identity-based attacks.
