Flanks, a Barcelona-based wealth management technology provider specializing in data aggregation services, has appointed Sebastian Henrichs as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective September 4, 2025. Henrichs is tasked with leading the company’s international growth strategy and operations, with a particular focus on the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and the UK.

Henrichs joins Flanks after leading FNZ Germany, a position he assumed following FNZ Group’s acquisition of Fondsdepot Bank in January 2023. His prior experience at Fondsdepot Bank includes serving as finance director, CFO, and subsequently CEO. Henrichs succeeds David Sanz Martínez, who departed Flanks in February after nearly two years as head of operations.

Flanks, which states it services over 100 clients worldwide, announced via a LinkedIn post that this new hire signifies “the beginning of our expansion into the DACH region.” The strategic appointment aligns with the company’s recent funding activities aimed at bolstering its European footprint.

To facilitate its expansion initiatives, Flanks secured €14 million in an equity funding round in February of this year. This round was led by Motive Ventures, with additional participation from Battery Ventures, Earlybird Venture Capital, JME Ventures, and 4Founders Capital, and the funds were specifically earmarked for European expansion. Prior to this, the company had raised $8 million in a Series A round, led by Earlybird Venture Capital, in 2023.
