Experian, a global data and technology company, has entered a 10-year strategic agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate its cloud migration and leverage AWS as its preferred cloud provider, with a significant focus on developing over 100 generative artificial intelligence (AI) use cases.Experian’s move to a cloud-first strategy aims to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability for its data services and solutions. This initiative involves migrating off mainframe computers and consolidating multiple on-premises servers into AWS’s cloud infrastructure. The centralization of technology platforms in the cloud is intended to enable Experian to derive deeper insights and improve predictive capabilities from its extensive data.A core component of this strategic collaboration is Experian’s selection of AWS as its partner for generative AI. This partnership is designed to foster operational efficiency, broaden access to data technologies for Experian employees, and facilitate the creation of new credit and financial analytics offerings. Generative AI integration is also expected to streamline complex database migrations by automating and optimizing the transfer of large datasets, which could reduce downtime and improve data accuracy.”AWS is delighted to partner with Experian to unlock opportunities that drive innovation, increase agility, and accelerate their modernization,” stated Scott Mullins, Managing Director, Worldwide Financial Services at AWS. “As they build intelligent data platforms, develop cutting-edge applications with generative AI, and gain real-time insights, Experian is demonstrating how organizations can reinvent their operations while maintaining security, compliance, and resilience at scale.”Rodrigo Rodrigues, Chief Technology Officer at Experian, commented on the progression of their cloud strategy. “Our initial migrations gave us enhanced performance, security, and reliability, making it an easy choice to take that a step farther and embrace a cloud-first strategy.” He added that having data readily available in the cloud positions Experian to invest in new capabilities like generative AI and advance client-facing products with robust security. Experian reports that its transition to AWS has already resulted in a 60% reduction in data processing time, product launch times decreasing from months to weeks, and the ability to analyze credit data in real-time.The collaboration also emphasizes data protection and regulatory compliance, with Experian leveraging AWS’s security controls and threat detection capabilities. Experian, a FTSE 100 Index company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, with 23,300 employees across 32 countries, focuses on redefining lending practices, fraud prevention, and delivering digital marketing solutions through its data, analytics, and software. This partnership seeks to create transformative experiences for businesses and consumers, promoting growth and innovation in the digital landscape.
