Dispatch, a wealthtech company focused on client data management for registered investment advisors (RIAs), announced the appointment of Chris Cook as Head of Solutions and Security Engineering.
Cook brings over a decade of experience in RIA technology, data strategy, and cybersecurity to Dispatch. In his new role, he will guide initiatives in system integration, real-time data orchestration, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and information security. His work aims to enable advisory firms to transition from basic data storage to active data utilization, helping clients operate more efficiently and deliver personalized experiences.
“The industry faces a data challenge where the sheer volume can hinder firm operations,” stated Cook. “Dispatch addresses this by improving advisor and client experiences, from streamlining book of business transitions to simplifying account opening and synchronizing core systems. We are transforming data lakes into data rivers.”
Prior to joining Dispatch, Cook spent almost ten years at Mariner, one of the industry’s largest RIAs, where he led cloud migrations, mobile-first initiatives, and enterprise security frameworks. In early 2025, he founded Obsydian, a consultancy focused on helping firms activate data, streamline operations, and adopt emerging technologies like AI and orchestration layers. Cook’s background includes scaling technology organizations from small teams to departments with over 75 professionals.
Rob Nance, CEO and co-founder of Dispatch, commented on the appointment, stating, “Chris provides extensive knowledge in RIA technology, data strategy, and security, alongside an entrepreneurial perspective that aligns with Dispatch’s mission. His history with Mariner, founding Obsydian, and scaling tech teams makes him uniquely qualified to lead our solutions and security efforts.”
Dispatch has experienced significant growth over the past year, highlighted by its recent Series A funding. This funding is dedicated to continuous investment in technology, product innovation, and client success, further positioning the company to expand its influence within the wealth management sector by assisting RIAs in optimizing operations, orchestrating data in real time, and improving client experiences. Dispatch aims to seamlessly sync client data across an advisor’s technology stack and alleviate the integration burden for wealthtech companies.
