Concentric AI has announced that its data security governance solution has been awarded Texas Risk and Authorization Management Program (TX-RAMP) certification, enabling the company to provide its services to Texas state agencies and public education institutions.

The TX-RAMP certification confirms that Concentric AI’s Semantic Intelligence™ platform meets the cybersecurity standards required for accessing data from state agencies and public higher education institutions in Texas. It also provides assurance that Concentric AI is a trusted and secure cloud service provider.

Lane Sullivan, SVP, Chief Information Security and Strategy Officer at Concentric AI, commented on the achievement. “Concentric AI is proud to be TX-RAMP certified,” he stated. Sullivan thanked the State of Texas for its rigorous certification process, which he noted validates safe and secure vendors. He added that this milestone allows Concentric AI to continue delivering innovation with trust, providing secure, compliant AI-driven data protection for both the public sector and enterprises. Sullivan also noted that this achievement adds to Concentric AI’s existing list of security validations and certifications, underscoring its commitment to data protection.

To obtain TX-RAMP certification, Concentric AI underwent a comprehensive assessment to demonstrate compliance with state-mandated cybersecurity standards. The company will also participate in regular reviews to maintain ongoing security and compliance. The program’s requirements are based on NIST SP 800-53, a cybersecurity framework developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and include baseline security requirements, certification by the Texas Department of Information Resources, and continuous monitoring by Texas state agencies.

State agencies and education institutions often manage significant data volumes across various departments but may have limited resources or outdated systems. Vendors like Concentric AI offer solutions to help these organizations discover and protect data, both on-premises and in the cloud, from threats such as insider risks and third-party vulnerabilities. Certified vendors also assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, privacy regulations, cybersecurity standards like NIST and HIPAA, and industry-specific guidelines.

Concentric AI’s end-to-end data security governance platform is designed to discover and protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and confidential data for Texas state agencies. This includes data at rest or in motion, and across Generative AI (GenAI) applications. The platform utilizes patented AI to understand data context, enabling it to discover and categorize semantically similar data records without relying on agents, complex rules, or regex. It provides continuous monitoring for risk, remediation, investigation, and compliance assurance.

Semantic Intelligence aims to provide a single platform to protect enterprise data across cloud and on-premises environments (at rest), data being transmitted via email or file sharing (in motion), and within GenAI applications. Instead of rigid rules or keywords, its patented AI understands the context of structured and unstructured data, accurately identifying PII, PCI, PHI, and sensitive information such as intellectual property. This approach leads to more accurate classifications and access policies within the platform and across a customer’s security stack, with automatic handling of risks such as excessive permissions and misclassified data through continuous monitoring and remediation.
