Cofense Unveils AI-Powered Enhancements for Phishing Defense and Security Awareness Training

Share It:

Cofense, a cybersecurity provider specializing in phishing defense, has introduced significant updates to its portfolio, including Smart Reinforcement within its Security Awareness Training solution and Triage 1.30 in its Phishing Detection and Response (PDR) offering, aimed at improving phishing threat remediation and training efficiency.

Smart Reinforcement is designed to streamline security education through AI-powered automation and adaptive learning, targeting user vulnerabilities with personalized training. Delivered via the Cofense Command Center, this solution integrates intelligence, automation, and measurable outcomes to mitigate phishing risk and foster lasting behavioral changes within organizations.

Key features of Smart Reinforcement include an AI-assisted training builder, which automatically delivers personalized reinforcement training based on user behavior and threat exposure. This builder leverages an intelligent assistant to curate targeted content from a library of over 3,000 challenges, aiming to reduce manual effort and accelerate delivery. Additionally, the solution provides scorable content with assessments to evaluate user learning and retention, enabling organizations to measure educational effectiveness and identify critical areas for improvement. Enhanced reporting and analytics offer deeper insights into user performance through metadata tagging and NIST CSF alignment, supporting targeted learning paths and learner incentives.

Simultaneously, Triage 1.30 focuses on streamlining and accelerating phishing detection and response. This iteration combines AI-powered prediction, explainable insights, and automation to enhance the speed and accuracy of threat detection.

Its capabilities include AI-powered prediction with automated processing, leveraging proprietary AI models to classify messages across key phishing categories and assign confidence scores to each threat. This allows analysts to set thresholds for automated quarantine, which aims to accelerate response times and minimize threat dwell time. The system also features Explainable AI, providing transparent insights into how classification decisions are made, thereby building trust in automation and addressing demand for visibility into AI systems.

Further enhancements to Triage 1.30 include improved search capability, enabling targeted, automated searches based on specific criteria via the Triage API. This allows analysts to query Continuous Quarantine data efficiently, refine detection logic, and accelerate remediation with precision.

Rachel Roldan, VP of Product at Cofense, stated that these new capabilities equip security teams to identify and neutralize phishing threats more rapidly and accurately. She noted that the updates directly address the increasing speed and sophistication of phishing attacks that often bypass traditional defenses, asserting that combining AI-driven automation with frontline intelligence from over 35 million trained reporters not only accelerates threat response but also builds lasting resilience against advanced email threats.

Cofense operates as a cybersecurity provider exclusively focused on countering phishing attacks. Its AI-driven platform integrates human intelligence, gathered from over 35 million global users, with purpose-built detection and response tools to identify threats that conventional defenses may miss. The company aims to reduce false positives, remediate threats efficiently, and strengthen human security layers through real-world phishing simulations. Processing over 9 million high-risk emails annually, Cofense provides 24/7 actionable intelligence to clients such as Mastercard, UniCredit Bank, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, assisting them in managing risk, meeting compliance requirements, and empowering their personnel as an active defense mechanism.
