Coalition, a provider of Active Insurance, has officially launched its Active Cyber Insurance services in France through its subsidiary, Coalition Insurance Solutions GmbH. This expansion allows French companies with revenues up to €1 billion to access innovative cyber risk management and primary cyber insurance coverage.
The capacity for these offerings is provided by Allianz Commercial via Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS) under a multi-year agreement. Coalition’s Active Insurance approach integrates comprehensive cyber insurance with internal technical cybersecurity knowledge, technologies, and services to provide an integrated risk management solution.
Tine Simonsen, Coalition’s Head of Insurance for Continental Europe, stated that as global cyber threats escalate, French businesses, particularly small enterprises, require an experienced insurance provider capable of mitigating financial losses and equipping them with essential cybersecurity tools to understand risks, strengthen defenses, and prevent future attacks. Coalition aims to offer end-to-end protection, supported by its in-house technical expertise, technologies, and cybersecurity-focused support services.
Policyholders benefit from Coalition’s proprietary cyber risk management platform, Coalition Control®, which offers a complete assessment of their exposure and risk. The platform provides alerts regarding emerging vulnerabilities and cyber threats. Additionally, businesses can access security services such as employee security awareness training and managed detection and response (MDR). Coalition’s claims and incident response teams are available 24/7 in the event of an incident.
To facilitate its French operations, Coalition has appointed Benjamin Barès as its Head of Business Development for France. Barès brings over two decades of industry experience, most recently serving as Director of Direct Sales and Partnerships at Hiscox Assurances France. Barès highlighted Coalition’s ambition to foster long-term relationships with brokers and agencies in France, supported by comprehensive training materials, broker-specific resources, and a streamlined online Broker Platform designed for quick quoting.
Barès’s team includes Frédéric Gatte as Director of Underwriting, who brings cyber expertise from his previous roles at Onda and Diot Siaci, and Production Underwriter Tom Paparella, who has transferred from Coalition’s U.
S. team. Coalition plans to expand its workforce in several French cities.
