Cleo, a global provider of AI-driven supply chain orchestration solutions, and Open ECX, a cloud-native automation platform based in Manchester, England, have announced a strategic partnership to enhance Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes through a fully integrated solution.

The collaboration aims to transform how enterprises manage P2P and O2C, enabling end-to-end automation across diverse digital ecosystems, regardless of data format, system architecture, or industry vertical. The joint offering leverages Cleo Integration Cloud (CIC) and Open ECX’s AI-supported automation engine to provide seamless integrations between disparate systems, including ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, and NetSuite, and a customer’s trading partner network.

By combining Cleo’s support for orchestrating EDI, API, MFT, and hybrid integration patterns with Open ECX’s intelligent document transformation capabilities—which include PDF-to-XML conversion, image-based data extraction, and real-time validation—clients can automate 100% of their inbound and outbound document flows.

Mahesh Rajasekharan, CEO of Cleo, stated that the partnership extends Cleo’s mission to deliver multi-directional, AI-powered supply chain orchestration by digitalizing and automating workflows. He added that the collaboration helps businesses eliminate manual touchpoints in critical processes, reduce latency, and gain full visibility into transactional lifecycles, supporting customer satisfaction and supply chain agility.

The joint solution provides universal document ingestion, allowing Open ECX to ingest and transform structured (e.g., EDI, XML, .csv) and unstructured (PDF, image) documents into machine-readable formats for processing through Cleo Integration Cloud. Open ECX’s software extracts data from the metadata layer and applies client-tailored business rules for validation and enrichment, facilitating high levels of straight-through processing for invoices, orders, and statements, including image-based documents. Cleo’s real-time API and event-driven architecture ensure immediate data exchange between ERP, WMS, and TMS systems and trading partners. Furthermore, joint customers benefit from Cleo’s centralized management and visibility console, CIC Cockpit, for monitoring document flows, handling exceptions, and tracking service level agreements (SLAs). Pre-built connectors and templates from both platforms are designed to accelerate onboarding and reduce time-to-value.

Matthew Jones, Founder of Open ECX, expressed enthusiasm for partnering with Cleo to expand the reach of their automation capabilities. He noted that the collaboration delivers a best-in-class solution for clients’ document processing needs, irrespective of format or system.

The partnership is expected to open new market opportunities across North America and Europe, offering clients a comprehensive solution for digital transformation.
