Clearspeed, a global leader in voice-based risk assessment, has partnered with Acorn Group, a prominent UK non-standard insurance provider, to integrate its proprietary voice technology into Acorn’s claims processes. This collaboration aims to accelerate payments for legitimate policyholders while enhancing fraud detection capabilities.
The partnership allows Acorn Group policyholders a path to fast-track their cases, prioritizing genuine claimants over fraudulent ones. Clearspeed’s solution has been implemented across motor and household claims, covering incidents such as theft, fire, and accidental damage. The technology has demonstrably reduced settlement times for customers, facilitating expedited payments.
Operationally, the integration streamlines Acorn’s claims journey. Policyholders reporting a claim respond to a series of automated yes or no questions. Clearspeed’s voice technology then analyzes and scores the responses to identify vocal characteristics associated with fraud risk, enabling efficient claim triaging at scale. Claims identified as low-risk can be expedited, allowing Acorn to reallocate resources to focus on high-risk cases.
James Fowle, Head of Group Fraud and Claims Strategy at Acorn Group, stated that the company has redesigned its entire fraud ecosystem, with the integration of solutions like Clearspeed enhancing customer protection and delivering measurable results, including improved claims outcomes, reduced costs, and elevated market standards.

Acorn Group plans to expand its collaboration with Clearspeed, introducing new projects across additional perils and insurance lines to extend the benefits of streamlined settlements to more claimants.
