Choctaw Travel Plazas, operating 21 convenience locations across Oklahoma, including 18 travel plazas and 3 county markets, has implemented ATEC America’s E3 Enterprise Cash Manager. This deployment, facilitated by the Financial Equipment Company of Oklahoma (FEC), addresses the challenge of manually balancing numerous cash drawers across multiple shifts daily.
The previous manual process involved managing 15 to 16 cash drawers per day, seven days a week, at various locations. The adoption of the ATEC America E3 system aims to automate cash processes, reduce labor requirements, and enhance cash security across Choctaw’s operations.
The ATEC America E3 is an all-in-one cash management solution designed to support the recycling of both cash and coin. Key features include real-time inventory control, a bank-grade UL 291 24-hour safe, dual control locks, and tamper-proof smart cassettes. For enhanced transaction security, the system offers individual passwords and optional identification features such as biometric, NFC, and keycard access. The E3 is capable of handling up to 20,000 banknotes across six denominations and provides real-time cash visibility with detailed reports.
Dave Pepin, Managing Partner of ATEC America, stated, “By partnering with Financial Equipment Company, we were able to help Choctaw Travel Plazas automate its cash processes, reduce labor requirements and secure cash with our top-of-the-line, all-in-one solution, the E3.” Each cash drawer processed with the E3 is estimated to save approximately 30 minutes of manual labor per day, allowing Choctaw to repurpose employees to better serve customers.
Chuck Tillman, Senior Director Retail Operations at Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, noted the operational improvements: “Not only are we saving eight hours a day in labor per location, but we are also confident knowing our cash is safely stored and monitored around the clock.” He added that the solution has been a “game changer” for their multi-location operation. Choctaw plans to expand the use of ATEC America’s E3 cash management solution to over 70% of its convenience locations by the end of 2026.
Kevin Cox, Chief Revenue Officer at Financial Equipment Company Oklahoma, commented on the partnership: “Helping customers secure their cash and create customized cash management solutions is our specialty, and working with Choctaw and ATEC America to perfect the solution to this problem was rewarding.” The E3 also offers flexible cassette configuration, allowing customization for specific business needs.
