Canopy Introduces AI Questionnaires within Smart Intake and Redesigned Engagements Module

SALT LAKE CITY – Canopy, an all-in-one practice management platform for accounting firms, has released AI questionnaires as part of its Smart Intake system and introduced a redesigned Engagements module, enhancing client interaction and firm operational efficiency.

The Smart Intake system now includes AI-powered questionnaires that generate personalized organizers for each client by leveraging existing data within Canopy. This system predicts necessary documents and answers, pre-fills known information, and automatically matches and renames uploaded files. Firms can also digitize organizers from their tax software, complete with conditional logic and a dynamic document checklist, allowing Canopy to match bulk-uploaded files to requested items. This feature is designed to save firms up to 50 minutes per client and improve the client experience.

The re-imagined Engagements module integrates a brandable proposal experience directly into Canopy. Firms can incorporate welcome videos, brochures, and templates without requiring third-party tools. A real-time preview function shows clients exactly what they will see. Tiered package options are planned for release in the fall. This expansion aims to replace single-point solutions by integrating engagements directly into a firm’s workflow, billing, and other practice management tools.”Our all-new engagements will make starting work with a new client even easier and our latest addition to Smart Intake will make obtaining needed client data faster and more efficient,” stated Hanna Bjornn, VP of Product at Canopy.

Canopy’s platform is designed as a native, all-in-one system, aiming to reduce the number of tools firms need to manage and provide a unified portal for clients. This approach integrates all client interactions, workflows, payments, and insights within a single system, removing dependencies on external roadmaps or integrations.

Earlier this year, Canopy secured $70 million in funding to support ongoing product development. These new tools are part of the company’s commitment to improving the efficiency of accounting professionals. Future enhancements planned include improvements to billing, bulk invoicing, Insights, practice intelligence, smarter workflows, and further AI integrations across products.
