Bridger Photonics, a leader in methane emissions data, has expanded the capabilities of its Gas Mapping LiDAR® (GML) technology to include both source-level (Level 4) and site-level (Level 5) methane measurement, aligning with the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership (OGMP) 2.0 framework.\n\nThis enhancement allows operators to leverage GML for comprehensive, measurement-based methane inventories, which are required to achieve OGMP 2.0 Gold Standard. The development positions Bridger Photonics at the forefront of advanced methane reporting, aiding operators in accelerating their progress toward Gold Standard alignment.\n\nBen Little, CEO of Bridger Photonics, stated, “Our goal is to meet operators where they are. Whether you’re building your first inventory or have assets across the globe, Bridger is the partner to get you there. Bridger’s technology makes the path to accurate, defensible inventories achievable and operationally efficient.”\n\nOGMP 2.0, an initiative led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), establishes the global standard for methane emissions reporting, emphasizing measurement and reconciliation. Attaining the Gold Standard signifies the industry’s highest level of excellence in measurement-based methane inventories.\n\nWith demonstrated success for operators already progressing through OGMP 2.0 and recent recognition of GML for both source- and site-level measurement under the framework, Bridger Photonics now offers a complete, measurement-based pathway for methane inventory creation. By integrating top-down and bottom-up measurements, the technology enables operators to efficiently reconcile inventories, mitigate uncertainty, and translate compliance into tangible emissions reductions. Bridger Photonics currently provides its data solutions to major companies such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Phillips 66.
