Board, a provider of Enterprise Planning Platforms, has announced the introduction of Board Agents, an intelligent suite of domain-specific AI agents developed on Microsoft Foundry to support real-world planning decisions across finance, supply chain, and merchandising.

The initial release of Board Agents includes FP&A and Controller Agents designed for the Office of Finance, with Merchandiser and Supply Chain Agents scheduled for subsequent delivery. This launch represents the first Board enterprise planning capability developed in collaboration with Microsoft Foundry, leveraging Microsoft Azure’s agentic AI tools and services to enhance secure, cloud-native AI innovation.

David Marmer, Board’s Chief Product Officer, highlighted the focus on practical applications. “As interest in AI accelerates, many customers are looking for clear paths to achieve real ROI,” Marmer stated. He added that because Board Agents are built around business-contextual use cases, customers can achieve value faster and adapt agents as their business evolves, emphasizing that AI is deeply embedded into Board’s platform to understand customer data, processes, and data-access policies.

Board Agents are distinguished by several key features. They include persona-based, use-case specific agents tailored for particular planning roles, ensuring contextual awareness and immediate value. For complex scenarios, the platform offers collaborative multi-agent orchestration, allowing agents to work together and draw on shared expertise for multi-dimensional decisions. Natively integrated into the Board Platform, these agents operate on the same data, assumptions, and calculations already in use by teams. Additionally, Board Agents integrate with Board Foresight to support advanced predictive analysis and scenario planning, assisting teams in assessing trade-offs and modeling outcomes.

Adam Hancock, Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis at EBSCO Industries, provided a user perspective, stating, “What impresses me most is the FP&A Agent’s ability to triangulate. It takes our detailed balance sheet and income statement and synthesizes everything into clear, actionable insights — incredibly valuable for us at EBSCO.”The enterprise deployment of Board Agents is supported by Board’s ongoing collaboration with Microsoft. Peter Skov, Senior Director of EMEA at Microsoft, noted the importance of flexibility, governance, and trust in enterprise AI deployment. Skov explained that Board Agents, built on Microsoft Foundry and employing a multi-agent orchestration approach, are designed to adapt as AI technology advances while maintaining strong ethical controls for accuracy, security, and data privacy. He underscored that the collaboration with Board helps organizations responsibly apply AI in complex planning environments where confidence in results is crucial.

The FP&A and Controller Agents are slated for global availability starting March 31, 2026, and will also be accessible through the Microsoft Marketplace. Merchandiser and Supply Chain Agents are expected to follow shortly after the Office of Finance Agents. Board, as an Enterprise Planning Platform, is designed to accelerate business performance, enable continuous planning, and drive aligned decisions, supporting organizations like H&M, BASF, Burberry, Toyota, Coca-Cola, and HSBC.
