Behavox, an AI company specializing in transforming data into business insights, has announced its successful certification to ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the world’s inaugural international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS).
This milestone underscores Behavox’s commitment to the explainable, responsible, and transparent application of AI. The ISO 42001 certification further solidifies Behavox’s leadership in delivering AI solutions across its product ecosystem, which includes Archive, Quantum, Mosaic, Pathfinder, and Polaris, particularly amidst rapid advancements and widespread AI adoption.
The certification process involved validation by Prescient Security, an accredited and independent third party, covering the full scope of Behavox’s Artificial Intelligence Management System. This encompasses the development, deployment, integration, and delivery of its AI-driven ecosystem, including the work of its Data Science organization, comprising AI Engineering, AI Research, Data QA, ML Operations, and AI Compliance teams. Behavox operates as an AI Provider, AI Producer, and AI System Integrator, with its market-leading Quantum solution, an AI-powered communication supervision platform for financial institutions, included within this scope.
Tigran Petrosyan, Head of Security and AI Governance Lead at Behavox, commented on the achievement, stating, “This certification validates our deep commitment to ethical AI, risk-based governance, and operational excellence. By aligning our AI practices with ISO/IEC 42001, we not only meet global standards but go beyond them to set the benchmark for responsible AI in compliance and risk management.”
Behavox’s AIMS is structured around a robust governance model designed to ensure accountability and human oversight throughout the AI lifecycle, structured risk management and AI impact assessments, and bias and fairness auditing for high-risk AI models. It aligns with global regulatory frameworks and standards such as the EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, EU MAR, GDPR, CCPA, DORA, ESMA, NFA, FINRA, PDPA, MAS, JSDA, IIROC, and SR 11-7, and promotes continuous improvement through internal audits, management reviews, and external stakeholder engagement.
Nabeel Ebrahim, Chief Revenue Officer at Behavox, added, “As regulators, customers, and society demand more accountability in AI, this certification shows we’re not just using AI – we’re governing it responsibly. With the ISO 42001 certification, we encourage our customers, the market and our competitors to raise their understanding and standards on AI governance.”
This achievement positions Behavox as one of the first RegTech companies globally to implement and certify an AI governance framework aligned with ISO/IEC 42001:2023. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in London with offices worldwide, Behavox provides solutions that enable clients, including banks, hedge funds, commodities firms, and private equity firms, to detect compliance risks, streamline data archiving, predict regulatory breaches, and leverage big data for revenue generation across various regulated enterprises.
