Bedrock Data, a provider of data-centric security, governance, and management platforms, announced it has raised $25 million in Series A funding. The investment was led by Greylock Partners, with additional participation from Mangusta Capital, Mantis Venture Capital, Pier 88 Investment Partners, and other investors. This capital is earmarked to accelerate product development, enhance innovation in scalable data security, integrations, classification, and AI governance, and expand go-to-market operations.

Jason Risch, a partner at Greylock Partners, will join Bedrock Data’s board of directors as part of this investment. The funding aims to meet the increasing enterprise demand for securing and governing data access across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and AI systems at multi-petabyte scale.

Jason Risch stated, “Enterprise security is entering a new era where data must be at the center of cyber strategy. Foundation models and agentic AI have made data access, governance and protection exponentially more complex, and legacy tools weren’t built for this shift. Bedrock’s approach is designed for scale and visibility across the full data surface, a prerequisite as enterprises replatform with AI at the core of their architecture. Bruno and the team bring the technical depth and clarity of vision needed to lead this transformation.”

Traditional security tools often fall short in protecting data effectively as AI adoption grows. Bedrock Data’s 2025 Enterprise Data Security Confidence Index indicates that 82% of cybersecurity professionals report critical gaps in finding and classifying organizational data. Bedrock Data addresses this challenge with its Metadata Lake, a continuously updated graph knowledge base that discovers, classifies, and contextualizes data across on-premise, cloud, SaaS, and AI environments. This system works to surface exposure, close least-privilege gaps, and reduce risk.

Bruno Kurtic, CEO and co-founder of Bedrock Data, commented, “Our mission is to build an enterprise-wide metadata lake that serves as the source of truth for data sensitivity, access, lineage and more. It’s not just about that basic visibility, it’s about operationalizing a data security program which improves data security posture (DSPM), reduces risk, improves access governance, enables responsible AI and delivers contextual intelligence that makes existing investments like SIEM, CNAPP, DLP and others more effective.”

Further extending its capabilities into AI, Bedrock Data separately announced ArgusAI. This tool allows enterprises to understand precisely what data their AI models and agents access during training and inference, evaluate whether existing controls are sufficient to prevent sensitive data leakage, and implement policies across all systems using natural language.

Adoption of the Bedrock Data platform has grown across financial services, healthcare, technology, and other data-intensive industries. Its partner ecosystem includes leading cloud and security providers such as Sysdig, Wiz, and Panther, which integrate Bedrock Data’s data context to enhance their platforms. Bedrock Data has received recognition as a Fortune Top 50 Cybersecurity Company of 2025, a SINET16 Innovator, and an award recipient from CODiE, InfoWorld, SC Media, Global InfoSec Awards, and Intellyx for its innovation in data security.

Based in Menlo Park, California, Bedrock Data provides continuous, context-driven security and governance for enterprise data across private cloud, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and AI environments. Its patented Metadata Lake and Serverless Outpost architecture autonomously discover, classify, and contextualize data in place without moving it outside customer boundaries. The platform’s open, API-first design integrates with existing platforms and enables natural-language policy enforcement, AI governance, and automated remediation at enterprise scale. Global leaders in technology, finance, healthcare, and biotech utilize Bedrock Data to operationalize data security.
