Assurant, Inc. (NYSE: AIZ), a global protection company, has announced two strategic leadership appointments aimed at accelerating growth and enhancing operational efficiency.
Mike Campbell has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Campbell will assume leadership of Global Operations and Information Technology for the enterprise. His responsibilities include enhancing operational efficiency, accelerating the technology roadmap, and leveraging Assurant’s global scale across all products. The integration of Operations and IT is intended to drive innovation, agile service delivery, and a more seamless experience for clients and customers.
Campbell joined Assurant in 2006 and has held several senior leadership roles, most recently serving as President, Global Housing since 2019. Keith Demmings, President and CEO of Assurant, stated that Campbell’s operational experience and success in scaling complex businesses make him well-suited to drive enterprise-wide execution and efficiency.
Succeeding Campbell, Ryan Lumsden has been appointed Executive Vice President and President, Global Housing. Lumsden previously led Assurant’s Renters business for nearly six years, during which he expanded the customer base, integrated technology to enhance client and customer experiences, introduced new products, and deepened key partner relationships.
With over 25 years of financial services experience, Lumsden joined Assurant in 2014 and has held various roles supporting strategy and business development within Global Housing. Prior to Assurant, he held leadership positions at Equifax, General Electric, and Metris Companies. Demmings noted that Lumsden brings strategic and commercial acumen to his new role and is positioned to lead the next phase of growth and innovation in the Housing business, strengthening Assurant’s sector leadership. Lumsden will also join Assurant’s Management Committee.
These appointments are effective Monday, September 15, 2025, and reflect Assurant’s commitment to enterprise transformation, leadership investment, and its future vision.
