Antom, a payment and digitisation services provider under Ant International, has launched an agentic payment solution that includes a secure APM checkout and pilots card-based transaction capabilities for AI agents with Mastercard and Visa.
The new solution aims to enable AI agents to complete payments flexibly and reliably by offering broad payment method coverage, including Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) and cards. It incorporates an AI-ready payment mandate model and enhanced payment asset management, designed to accurately recognize user intent, secure transactions, and increase user transparency. Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the solution facilitates embedded payment flows through dialogue-based interactions with AI agents, supporting both confirmed purchases and conditional, pre-authorized transactions, such as purchases within set spending limits or scheduled flash sales. The Antom agentic payment solution is now open-sourced on GitHub.
The company states that while many payment systems still involve multiple clicks, agentic scenarios require payment intent confirmation within natural language conversations, necessitating new models for authorization and traceability. Antom’s solution connects AI agents to diverse APMs, including digital wallets. With Antom EasySafePay, a streamlined checkout for APMs, users can link their digital wallets directly to the checkout page without being redirected to external applications, integrating into agent-initiated payment flows.
Antom EasySafePay combines convenience with security features, leveraging Multi-Party Computation (MPC)-based AI risk management and mobile device security systems. These systems identify and block fraudulent transactions, including phishing, fraud, and identity misuse, aiming to reduce account takeovers for digital wallet users while protecting privacy. The solution complies with PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) rules for payment asset management through cryptographic measures. It also builds an AI-ready user intent analysis and authorization model that links key transaction parameters with intent evidence to create verifiable credentials, facilitating end-to-end traceability and supporting dispute resolution via privacy-computing-based credential queries.
Antom’s solution is designed to support various payment methods, including cards, wallets, and bank transfers, to help AI agents reach a broad customer base and reduce integration costs. Antom is collaborating with Mastercard through Mastercard Agent Pay and Visa through Visa Intelligent Commerce in Asia Pacific. These partnerships explore tokenized card-based agentic payments, aiming to advance AI commerce by piloting secure and seamless checkout experiences that incorporate tokenization, authentication, and transaction control tools.
This launch aligns with Ant International’s AI strategy, which combines its fintech expertise with trusted AI capabilities and platform-level AI support. The initiative seeks to empower developers, financial institutions, and merchants to adopt AI-driven commerce. Gary Liu, General Manager of Antom, Ant International, commented, “Agentic payment is a foundational step in allowing AI agents to generate real value in our everyday life. The rise of agentic payment calls for rethinking how payment systems are designed. We look forward to co-building the protocols and frameworks with partners across the financial, tech and commerce sectors to ensure agentic payments are smooth and reliable.”
