AMINA (Austria) AG, a newly established subsidiary of AMINA Bank AG, has received a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Austria’s Financial Market Authority (FMA) under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCAR) framework.

This approval facilitates the launch of AMINA EU, which will introduce regulated crypto trading, custody, and portfolio management services, alongside crypto staking. These services are intended for professional investors, including family offices, corporates, and financial institutions. AMINA EU aims to provide a platform for secure, institutional-grade access to the crypto ecosystem, operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of AMINA Bank and a member of the global AMINA Group, utilizing established banking-grade governance and regulatory expertise.

Franz Bergmueller, CEO of AMINA Bank, stated that the MiCA CASP license for AMINA EU underscores the AMINA Group’s commitment to regulatory standards and addressing the increasing global demand for trusted crypto services. He noted that this milestone, combined with existing licenses in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi, enables the group to offer global service through operations built for scale, security, and long-term success.

Austria was selected as AMINA EU’s European entry point due to its regulatory environment and commitment to investor protection. AMINA EU has already been notified in thirteen additional European countries and is positioned for expansion into more than thirty markets across Europe.

Eckehard Stolz, Managing Director of AMINA EU, commented that professional investors in Europe are seeking secure, regulated access to crypto. He highlighted that the launch of AMINA’s European operations in Austria addresses this demand by combining Swiss banking expertise with Austrian regulatory strength to establish infrastructure that connects traditional finance with crypto assets.

The CASP license authorizes AMINA EU to provide specific regulated crypto-asset services: custody of crypto assets, exchange of crypto assets for fiat currencies or other crypto assets, transfer services, and portfolio management of crypto assets.
