American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) and SAP Concur have announced a strategic alliance aimed at transforming business travel management through a new integrated platform, ‘Complete,’ designed to streamline booking, expense, and payment processes.
The collaboration will deliver a new Concur Expense integration for Amex GBT’s Egencia customers and co-create ‘Complete,’ a next-generation solution. This platform seeks to unify booking, servicing, expense, payments, and a marketplace into a single, seamless experience, with customer preferences at its core.
When released, ‘Complete’ is planned to offer AI-powered user experience and personalization to enhance traveler interactions. It also aims to provide greater access to and use of travel and expense data, improving policy compliance and spend management. Users can expect access to a broader range of content for airlines, hotels, ground transportation, and rail services, alongside advanced modern retailing capabilities. The solution is designed to provide a consistent traveler experience across online and offline channels through one app and one view, supported by a unified Amex GBT and SAP Concur team for account management, support, and service. The companies intend to leverage combined AI offerings, utilizing insights from extensive datasets from Concur Travel and Expense and Amex GBT’s software, services, and marketplace, which encompass millions of trips and transactions to fine-tune experiences in near real-time.
Evan Konwiser, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at Amex GBT, stated that the alliance “reimagines how travel and expense solutions can deliver unprecedented value to our customers and their travelers in the AI age.” He added that the collaboration enables the creation of new software that deeply integrates data, marketplace, and servicing capabilities across both travel and expense. Fred Fredericks, General Manager and Chief Product Officer at SAP Concur, commented that the strategic alliance “represents the future of travel and expense management,” anticipating a solution that makes business travel “easier, but smarter and more impactful for organizations everywhere” by combining their respective technologies, expertise, marketplace, and mutual AI capabilities.
Further integrations, features, and functionalities are expected to be announced in 2025, with quarterly feature releases slated to begin in 2026. ‘Complete’ is intended for use by members of GBT Partner Solutions and Amex GBT’s other global partner networks.
