American Airlines and Mastercard Extend Payments Partnership

American Airlines and Mastercard have extended their multi-decade partnership, reinforcing their shared commitment to enhancing travel experiences and delivering value through advanced payments technology and services. This agreement secures Mastercard as the exclusive payment network partner for American’s co-branded credit cards, building upon a collaboration that spans nearly 40 years.

Together, American and Mastercard will continue to enhance the AAdvantage® program, American’s travel rewards initiative, providing cardholders with seamless and personalized experiences on every trip. American Airlines plans to leverage Mastercard’s payments infrastructure and analytics to deliver more personalized offers, optimized rewards, and secure transactions. Mastercard’s technology will power real-time fraud detection and optimize payments from booking through in-flight services. Advanced analytics will support the refinement of the customer travel experience, while AAdvantage® members will gain new ways to redeem miles for Mastercard Priceless Experiences.

This includes upgraded travel privileges and unique Priceless Experiences, such as meet-and-greets with athletes, VIP access at cultural events, and behind-the-scenes tours at notable destinations.
