Alipay Launches AI Pay-Powered Service for OpenClaw AI Agents

Share It:

Alipay has introduced a new AI Pay-powered payment service that enables OpenClaw-type AI agents to execute purchases and complete payments based on user instructions, enhancing the capabilities of autonomous AI tools often referred to as “lobsters” in China.

This new service requires no coding or complex setup and incorporates multi-layer security safeguards for every transaction. It builds upon Alipay AI Pay, an AI-native payment solution launched in 2025 that facilitates secure, seamless transactions through AI agents via voice command.

Alipay AI Pay reached 100 million users in February 2026, becoming the first AI-native payment product globally to achieve this milestone. During the week of February 5-11, 2026, it processed over 120 million transactions. The new service extends these capabilities by enabling OpenClaw-type AI agents to manage payments with user authorization.

To use the service, users install Alipay AI Pay from its official website (https://aipay.alipay.com/) into their AI agents. They then activate the payment function with a voice command and complete identity verification. The agent can then handle purchases in three steps: the user states a need (e.g., “help me renew my membership”), confirms the order, and authorizes payment via Alipay AI Pay. Orders can be modified or canceled with a single command.

Security is integrated into every layer of the service. Activation requires user initiation and identity verification, and each payment necessitates user authorization. A 24/7 intelligent risk control system further safeguards every transaction. Alipay is also extending its “Full Compensation” account protection program to the new service.

The service is pre-installed on Alibaba Cloud’s JVS Claw and has been rolled out on DTClaw of Ant Group Digital Technologies. Alipay AI Pay is also available for installation on other OpenClaw-type AI agents, including Claude Code and Hermes Agent.

As agentic commerce has expanded in China, Alipay AI Pay has been deployed across various use cases, from AI agents embedded in apps for traditional retailers like Luckin Coffee, to AI smart glasses such as Rokid’s, and consumer-facing AI applications like Alibaba’s Qwen. Its capabilities now extend to OpenClaw-type AI agents.

In addition to the consumer-facing AI payment service, Alipay has launched several developer-facing services to support AI commercialization. These include Payment MCP Server for integrating payment services to AI agents using natural language, Payment Integration Skill for vibe coding developers, AI Tipping for developers needing to receive tips within an AI agent, and AI subscription payment for service usage-based payments. Each of these is described as the first of its kind in China.

Alipay, an all-in-one digital platform, connects over one billion consumers to more than 80 million merchants across China. It provides a secure mobile payment experience and integrates over 10,000 services in sectors such as travel, healthcare, tourism, and entertainment. Through digital tools like Alipay Tap!, mini-programs, and lifestyle accounts, Alipay aims to enhance operational efficiency for merchants, institutions, and independent software vendors (ISVs). The company is also developing an AI-driven open platform to deliver smarter, personalized services to users and facilitate digital transformation in the service sector.
