Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Anthropic have announced a significant expansion of their partnership, establishing the Accenture Anthropic Business Group to help enterprises transition from AI pilots to full-scale deployment and co-developing new offerings for AI-powered software development and regulated industries.
Accenture and Anthropic are forming the Accenture Anthropic Business Group, a strategic investment aimed at talent, solutions, and go-to-market capabilities. This initiative will provide training to approximately 30,000 Accenture professionals on Anthropic’s Claude models, making Anthropic one of Accenture’s select strategic partners and creating one of the largest ecosystems of Claude practitioners globally.
Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, stated, “This exciting expansion of our partnership with Anthropic will help our clients accelerate the shift from experimenting with AI to using it as a catalyst for reinvention across the enterprise.” She added that the combination of Claude’s capabilities with Accenture’s AI expertise and domain knowledge will enable organizations to “embed AI everywhere responsibly and at speed—from software development to customer experience—to drive innovation, unlock new sources of growth and build their confidence to lead in the age of AI.”
Dario Amodei, CEO and co-founder of Anthropic, highlighted the necessity for enterprises to combine advanced AI with trusted expertise for large-scale deployment. “Accenture brings deep enterprise transformation experience, and Anthropic brings the most capable models,” Amodei said. He noted that “tens of thousands of Accenture developers will be using Claude Code, making this our largest ever deployment—and the new Accenture Anthropic Business Group will help enterprise clients use our smartest AI models to make major productivity gains.”
The Accenture Anthropic Business Group integrates Accenture’s AI, industry, and functional expertise with Anthropic’s Claude models and Claude Code, along with established playbooks for regulated sectors. This aims to facilitate faster, lower-risk deployments for enterprises by providing a skilled workforce ready to scale AI capabilities from pilot to production.
A new joint offering is set to launch, designed for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) to measure value and drive large-scale AI adoption across engineering organizations. This inaugural product from the partnership will provide a structured approach to transform enterprise software design, building, and maintenance by centering Claude Code within the development lifecycle. It incorporates three Accenture capabilities: a framework for quantifying productivity gains and ROI, workflow redesign for AI-first development teams, and adaptive change management and training. This offering is intended to translate developer productivity into company-wide benefits, such as faster releases and shorter development cycles.
Claude is currently utilized by hundreds of thousands of businesses, with Claude Code serving as a critical tool for many leading enterprises. The product aims to accelerate productivity gains for software developers, enabling junior developers to produce senior-level code and complete integration tasks more quickly, and allowing senior developers to focus on higher-value work like architecture and strategic oversight.
Accenture and Anthropic are also collaborating on industry-specific solutions, with an initial focus on highly regulated sectors including financial services, life sciences, healthcare, and public sector. These industries face challenges in modernizing legacy systems while adhering to strict security and governance requirements.
For financial services, Claude’s capacity to process complex documents, combined with Accenture’s regulatory expertise, is intended to help banks and insurers automate compliance workflows and make precise, faster decisions. In health and life sciences, Accenture’s R&D expertise alongside Claude’s analytical capabilities will assist researchers in querying proprietary datasets, generating experimental protocols, and streamlining clinical trial processing. For the public sector, AI agents are being developed to help citizens navigate complex government services, providing accurate and accessible support while maintaining data privacy and statutory compliance.
The partnership is founded on a mutual commitment to responsible AI. It combines Anthropic’s constitutional AI principles with Accenture’s AI governance expertise to enable secure, transparent, and accountable AI deployment for enterprises. To support hands-on client engagement, Claude will be integrated into Accenture Innovation Hubs, which will serve as centers for safe AI co-creation, allowing global clients to prototype, test, and validate AI solutions in controlled environments.
Additionally, the companies will co-invest in the establishment of a Claude Center of Excellence within Accenture. This dedicated environment will focus on the joint design of new AI offerings customized to specific enterprise needs, industry requirements, and regulatory contexts.
