ACAMS, a global membership organization for anti-financial crime (AFC) professionals, has announced key leadership promotions designed to enhance its strategic direction and product innovation. Angela Salter has been promoted from Chief Product Officer to Chief Strategy & Partnerships Officer, while Shilpa Arora, formerly Head of Anti-Financial Crime Products and Solutions, is now Chief Product Officer.

This strategic restructuring aims to reinforce ACAMS’ market position in providing training, intelligence, and events to the financial crime community. Neil Sternthal, CEO of ACAMS, stated that both Salter and Arora have demonstrated a deep commitment to the organization’s values and mission, and in their new capacities, they are expected to advance strategy, enhance products, and unlock new opportunities.

In her newly created role as Chief Strategy & Partnerships Officer, Salter will oversee organizational strategy, the development of partnerships and strategic alliances, industry intelligence, corporate development, and the expansion of ACAMS’ content capabilities. She will also lead the teams responsible for ACAMS’ flagship media publications, ACAMS Moneylaundering.com and ACAMS Today. Salter joined ACAMS over a decade ago, bringing extensive experience in leadership and international market development from prominent information services and digital media organizations.

Salter commented on her promotion, noting, “The rapid pace of technological advancements, evolving regulatory frameworks and shifting priorities across the industry makes our work more critical than ever. I look forward to advancing ACAMS’ role in turning insight into action for our members.”

As Chief Product Officer, Arora will be responsible for driving innovation and shaping the product vision across the organization. Arora has been instrumental in several recent product successes, including the introduction of the Certified Anti-Fraud Specialist (CAFS) and the Next Generation CAMS certifications. She joined ACAMS in January 2020 as AML Director, EMEA, after previously serving as Head of Financial Crime Prevention for the Retail and Business Bank at Santander UK.

Arora expressed her perspective on the new role: “Our members count on our training and curated content to stay ahead of evolving risks and changing regulations. I’m excited by the opportunity to drive innovation and strengthen anti-financial crime capabilities that enhance customer value.” She emphasized ACAMS’ commitment to integrity and innovation in shaping future AFC solutions.

These leadership changes underscore ACAMS’ commitment to uniting the global financial crime community and scaling its offerings for its more than 115,000 members across over 195 countries and territories. ACAMS provides education, best practices, and networking opportunities, with its CAMS certification recognized as a standard for AFC professionals. It also offers CGSS, CAFS, and CCAS certifications, along with over 65 global Chapters that support its mission through training and networking initiatives.
