Abrigo, a provider of compliance, credit risk, and lending solutions for financial institutions, has released Abrigo Fraud Detection for ACH. This new solution enhances the AI-powered Abrigo Fraud Detection platform, offering real-time, data-driven protection across both ACH origination and receipt channels.

The Abrigo Fraud Detection for ACH solution aims to help financial institutions prevent fraud losses, protect customer accounts, and adhere to the 2026 Nacha risk management framework for ACH fraud. It analyzes ACH files in real-time upon arrival, identifying high-risk patterns such as mule accounts, fan-out behavior, and unusual timing before transactions are processed.

The ACH Network processed 8.8 billion payments in the third quarter of 2025, valued at $23.2 trillion. This represents increases of 5.2% in volume and 8.2% in value year-over-year. Same Day ACH volume grew 9.2% and value increased by 16.7% through the first three quarters of 2025, according to Nacha. This growth in transaction volume and value increases opportunities for fraud and puts pressure on institutions to detect potential fraudulent activity more quickly.

Ravi Nemalikanti, Abrigo Chief Product & Technology Officer, stated, “ACH activity continues to grow in volume, value, and complexity, and that expansion brings increased fraud exposure. With this new solution, we’re giving financial institutions greater intelligence and automation so they can stop fraudulent transactions before they impact customers.”

This release expands the platform’s coverage. Abrigo Fraud Detection now safeguards in-clearing and deposit check transactions, wire payments, and ACH origination and receipt, with plans to support additional payment types in 2026. Existing customers using Abrigo Fraud Detection for check fraud prevention have achieved a greater than 90% detection rate for fraudulent check values and an ROI in under six months.

Jay Blandford, Chief Executive Officer at Abrigo, commented, “Abrigo’s mission is to help financial institutions protect their customers and communities. ACH fraud is accelerating, and financial institutions need fast, automated defenses. We are proud to deliver that protection to reduce fraud losses and support customer trust.”

The new ACH solution integrates ACH data, applies real-time behavioral analytics, and allows for self-service rule creation to speed up fraud detection. It includes transaction-level case consolidation, optional account verification and customer confirmation, and continuous monitoring of ACH origination and receipt activity to streamline reviews, reduce false positives, and meet evolving Nacha fraud-detection standards.

Abrigo Fraud Detection is part of Abrigo’s Financial Crime suite, which combines fraud detection, anti-money laundering (AML), and sanctions and watchlist screening. This suite offers shared case management, integrated data, centralized reporting, and explainable AI to help institutions manage risk. Abrigo’s advisory, implementation, and customer support teams, along with a community of over 90,000 financial professionals, support these solutions.
