Volante Technologies, a global provider of Payments as a Service (PaaS), has launched Volante Low-code Studio, an automated low-code/no-code environment designed to redefine how financial institutions design, deploy, and maintain payment workflows. The solution is fully integrated with Volante’s cloud-native Payments Platform. It aims to equip banks with pre-built capabilities and extensible patterns to enhance their modernization journeys, fostering innovation and cost efficiency.

Deepak Gupta, Chief Product, Engineering, and Delivery Officer at Volante Technologies, stated that banks have historically faced a dilemma between acquiring rigid vendor solutions and developing expensive custom systems. He noted, “With Low-code Studio, financial institutions no longer have to choose between speed and control—they can have both.” Gupta added that combining the agility of low-code with Volante’s platform enables banks to adopt a ‘Buy-and-Extend’ approach, allowing them to launch new services in weeks rather than months while maintaining resilience, scalability, and compliance.

Challenges in payments modernization are evident in industry research, with 51% of banks reporting that the application integration layer carries the most technical debt, and 57% citing system integration as their greatest modernization challenge. Volante Low-code Studio addresses these obstacles with a visual, configuration-driven environment that supports both technical and non-technical users. Its interactive editor and reusable templates facilitate modeling workflows, adapting interfaces, configuring business functions, and managing reference data, with provisions for human oversight.

Gareth Lodge, Principal Analyst at Celent, commented on the difficulties inherent in payments modernization, including complex integration, slow deployment, and high update costs, which often leave banks navigating a ‘build-or-buy’ predicament. He described Volante’s approach as a “compelling path forward,” enabling financial institutions to leverage a comprehensive payments hub and use low-code to configure their processing for security, scalability, and unique differentiation for their customers.

Uday Thakur, Co-Founder and CTO of Volante Technologies, highlighted that Low-code Studio marks a “turning point” in payments modernization. He emphasized the creation of a holistic platform rather than isolated point solutions, providing banks the freedom to innovate confidently and without compromise. According to Thakur, Volante is establishing a new benchmark for payments transformation.

Low-code Studio complements Volante’s Payments Platform, eliminating the need for complex additional infrastructure or integration. Its framework is intended to enable financial institutions to implement new payment capabilities almost immediately, aiming to reduce total costs and shorten timelines. The platform supports scaling innovation across internal teams and chosen system integration partners, while maintaining consistency, compliance, and performance within existing Volante environments.

Volante Technologies operates as a trusted cloud payments modernization partner to financial businesses globally. Its real-time native, API-enabled, and ISO 20022 fluent Payments as a Service and underlying low-code platform process millions of mission-critical transactions and trillions in value daily. Volante’s customer base includes four of the top five global corporate banks, seven of the top ten U.

S. banks, and two of the world’s largest card networks.
