T. Rowe Price, a global asset management firm, has expanded its long-standing relationship with Charles River Development, a State Street Company, by migrating its investment operations to the cloud-based Charles River Investment Management Solution (Charles River IMS).

This transition shifts T. Rowe Price from its proprietary infrastructure to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment of Charles River IMS. The move aims to modernize front-office operations and streamline the management of global equity, fixed income, and multi-asset portfolios, enhancing efficiency and scalability.

Glen Eads, Charles River product owner at T. Rowe Price, noted the collaborative nature of the project. He stated, “The collaboration, constant communication, and enhanced transparency between Charles River and T. Rowe Price made this significant project highly manageable. It was a huge initiative that involved deep work on both sides, and in the end, it was a big success.”

Dean Landis, Head of the Americas at Charles River, commented on the partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to expand our long running strategic partnership with T. Rowe Price to support their growth and innovation strategy. Our platform affords T. Rowe Price the flexibility to modernize their operating model while keeping pace with rapidly changing investor preferences and emerging regulatory frameworks.”

T. Rowe Price, a client of Charles River since 2002, manages $1.79 trillion in client assets as of October 31, 2025, with approximately two-thirds of these assets being retirement-related. Charles River IMS is utilized by investment and wealth managers, asset owners, and insurers in approximately 30 countries to manage $59 trillion in assets as of Q3 2025. This cloud-based front-office technology forms a core component of State Street Alpha, which combines Charles River’s technology with State Street’s middle- and back-office services.
