Sandro Camilleri, CEO of Identis, stated that this event marks a significant milestone for the group, its customers, employees, and stakeholders. He noted the group’s impressive growth, fueled by internal innovation and strategic acquisitions, which has enabled the organization to build a comprehensive portfolio across secure identity and payment domains. Originally, Matica focused on advanced payment card issuance systems for financial institutions, rapidly becoming a trusted partner worldwide. The business has since transformed, with Identis now a major global player in the secure ID market, leveraging technology to expand beyond its hardware heritage into integrated identity ecosystems.
Identity now accounts for 50% of the company’s yearly revenue, according to Mr. Camilleri, who added that Identis is built upon the foundations of Matica, Panini, and UbiQ, combined with its secure ID business. The Identis portfolio includes approximately 100 solutions covering Secure ID and Payments, encompassing hardware, software, and consumables. These systems are designed with a modular and interoperable architecture, allowing them to adapt to diverse customer environments, bridging physical and digital solutions such as Centralized, Decentralized, and Digital ID.
