Digital Commerce Bank (DCBank) has introduced Interac e-Transfer Cards, making it the first bank to bring this new product to market in Canada, allowing users to customize money transfers with animated messages.
This new feature is designed to integrate seamlessly into web or mobile-based products via DCBank’s APIs, online banking portal, or digital wallets. It enables merchants and individuals to attach personalized animated messages to funds sent through Interac e-Transfer, aiming to transform standard transactions into more meaningful interactions.
Jeffrey Smith, CEO at DCBank, stated, “Sometimes sending money isn’t about what you owe—it’s about what you feel. Interac e-Transfer Cards make it easy for Canadians to express themselves in meaningful ways while doing something they already do every day.”
Glenn Wolff, Group Head & Chief Client Officer at Interac Corp., commented, “We are thrilled to launch Interac e-Transfer Cards with DCBank, marking a significant milestone as the first bank in Canada to bring this unique offering to its members. Canadians are embracing digital-first experiences that feel personal, seamless, and deeply woven into everyday life.”
Users can select from a range of digital card designs suitable for various occasions, including birthdays, celebrations, or everyday gestures of thanks. This functionality aims to merge convenience with creative expression, intending to improve how Canadians give, share, and connect digitally. DCBank, founded in 2007, focuses on providing everyday banking services alongside API developer tools designed for product integration and aims to offer advanced payment technology and facilitate instant transactions.
Interac Corp. provides payment and value exchange services, supporting digital transactions for Canadians. The Interac network connects nearly 300 financial institutions, with Canadians using Interac products over 20 million times a day on average.
