N-able, Inc. (NYSE: NABL) has announced the public preview of a version of its N-central unified endpoint management (UEM) solution, designed to support CMMC 2.0 controls. This release enables customers operating within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) to deploy N-central in a certified environment, manage their own data and infrastructure, and meet evolving compliance requirements to enhance cyber resilience.
Mike Adler, Chief Technology and Product Officer at N-able, stated that CMMC 2.0 represents a significant industry shift. He emphasized that N-able views this as an opportunity to empower customers to confidently navigate a security-first future, driving readiness and strengthening business resilience by facilitating operations within the Defense Industrial Base.
These new capabilities allow managed services providers (MSPs) and internal IT teams that collaborate with Department of Defense (DoD) contractors and subcontractors to maintain eligibility for DoD contracts. The solution aligns with CMMC 2.0, Level 2 standards, reinforcing N-able’s position as a vendor providing a product and support specifically for CMMC 2.0 compliance.
Terence Tang, Vice President of Strategy at Intech Hawaii, noted that CMMC Level 2 certification was crucial for their mission to support and protect their government contracting customers. He confirmed that N-able N-central provides confidence in their ability to fulfill this commitment.
Key features of N-central include real-time monitoring and visibility across endpoints, automated efficiency for tasks like patching and configuration, and security enforcement through access controls. The solution aims to offer continuity for existing customers meeting CMMC 2.0 requirements, provide a compliant option for new customers, and represents N-able’s ongoing investment in security and compliance innovation across its cyber resilience platform.
Brett Kimmell, Managing Member and Principal Cybersecurity Consultant at Kimmell Cybersecurity, indicated that N-central was instrumental in their achievement of CMMC Level 2 certification. He added that it provides the necessary tools for scalable patching, monitoring, and security across thousands of endpoints, contributing to new business and industry differentiation.
Building on these functionalities, N-able Adlumin Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and expert Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services offer advanced threat detection, 24/7 monitoring, and automated incident response. The design ensures Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) remains inaccessible to Adlumin analysts, consistent with CMMC guidelines for Security Protection Assets. This integration directly supports key CMMC 2.0 controls, streamlining compliance and mitigating risk. Together, N-central and Adlumin XDR/MDR deliver integrated IT management and cybersecurity, addressing the complexities of CMMC 2.0 and the contemporary threat landscape.
Following industry events such as the C5S Global Conference, N-able is proactively positioning its customers to adapt to regulatory changes and maintain a competitive edge within the federal government and DoD sectors. The public preview of the CMMC-ready N-central version is currently available, with general availability anticipated in early Q1 2026.
