Lumen Technologies (NYSE: LUMN) and Commvault have announced the integration of Lumen’s secure global network infrastructure with Commvault’s advanced cyber resilience platform. This partnership aims to assist enterprises in safeguarding critical information, mitigating risks, and accelerating recovery processes within complex digital environments.
This collaboration is part of Lumen’s connected ecosystem strategy, which combines its physical network and digital platforms with technology partners to deliver scalable solutions. The integration merges Commvault’s data recovery and resiliency expertise with Lumen’s secure, global network backbone and edge infrastructure. This provides enterprises with high-speed, encrypted data transport and seamless integration across hybrid IT environments, designed to withstand cyber threats and simplify operations.
Ashley Haynes-Gaspar, Chief Revenue Officer at Lumen, stated, “As businesses accelerate their digital transformation, the ability to move and protect data securely, anywhere, at any time, takes priority. With this partnership, we’re demonstrating the strength of a truly connected ecosystem. By combining our network scale and digital platform with Commvault’s industry-leading data protection and cyber resilience, we deliver what enterprises need most: confidence, performance, measurable cost savings, and the readiness to tackle today’s and tomorrow’s cyber threats.”
Central to the partnership is the publication of the Lumen® Validated Design (LVD) for Cyber Resilience with Commvault. The LVD acts as a blueprint, offering tested and proven frameworks that customers can adopt with confidence, as they have been validated under real-world conditions.
Pranay Alhawat, Chief Technology & AI Officer at Commvault, commented, “The explosion of data, ransomware attacks and regulatory complexity have significantly increased risk and costs for large enterprises. Lumen and Commvault together can help joint customers scale recoveries, advance true multi-cloud resiliency, and remain in a state of continuous business.”
The LVD for Cyber Resilience with Commvault demonstrates how an integrated, automated platform can reduce complexity, enforce zero-trust access, and accelerate backup and recovery for customers operating in regulated or distributed infrastructures. Key features include air-gapped storage, anomaly detection, and centralized policy management, all designed to maintain data integrity and business continuity even during sophisticated cyber incidents.
Lumen itself has implemented this solution, consolidating 90% of its legacy backup platforms and reducing downtime. This internal deployment resulted in $3.5 million in annual savings for Lumen, demonstrating the solution’s scalability and effectiveness in a production environment. This LVD is suitable for various industries with similar needs, including energy and utilities, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, retail, and media. The design supports continuous availability, rapid restoration, reduced downtime, and the protection of data integrity and reputation, particularly in environments facing regulatory and operational complexity.
