RiPSIM Technologies, a provider of cloud-native software for generating and delivering mobile network authentication credentials, has announced a strategic investment led by Swisscom Ventures, the venture capital arm of Swisscom AG, to accelerate the growth of its eSIM-as-a-Service management platform.

RiPSIM’s platform aims to modernize the generation and delivery of eSIMs. The company states that its solution gives wireless carriers and enterprise network operators control over the credentialing process, which enables more secure subscriber authentication, on-demand service provisioning, and new avenues for business expansion. The company projects that the adoption of eSIMs will increase from 20% to over 70% of devices in the next five years, making the security and integrity of eSIMs a critical industry priority.

Semih Kaçan, Investment Director at Swisscom Ventures, commented on the investment, stating that RiPSIM addresses a critical challenge for network operators and the telecommunications industry. He highlighted the agility and speed of RiPSIM’s cloud-native platform in creating and delivering eSIMs instantly, expressing confidence in its global scalability and impact.

Chris Jahr, founder and CSO of RiPSIM, noted the significance of the partnership for the company. He emphasized that the evolution of mobile technology extends beyond new devices to encompass the proliferation of entities operating their own networks. Jahr identified a gap in the industry’s capacity to deliver wireless authentication credentials at the scale required for the thousands of private networks emerging with next-generation technologies.

Swisscom Ventures, part of Swisscom AG, a leading telecom and ICT provider in Switzerland, focuses its strategic investments on areas such as telco and IT cloud infrastructure, deeptech, and cybersecurity. The investment is also intended to facilitate the integration of RiPSIM’s platform into Swisscom AG’s telecommunications services, with the goal of strengthening its portfolio and accelerating adoption among enterprise customers globally.

RiPSIM Technologies has developed an end-to-end eSIM-as-a-Service management platform that is patented, GSMA-certified, cloud-native, and microservices-based. This digital identity authentication platform is designed to allow wireless service providers to design, develop, and deliver eSIMs at any time, in any quantity, for any device, with a focus on high security. The platform’s interfaces are designed for ease of use, aiming to enable users of varying skill levels to develop eSIMs confidently, automate eSIM workflows, and reduce operational expenses.
