Performio, a provider of incentive compensation management (ICM) software, has unveiled its Performio AI Admin Assistant and Performio MCP Server, aiming to embed artificial intelligence at the core of its platform to streamline and automate incentive compensation processes.
For years, incentive compensation management systems have often introduced complexity, requiring extensive manual effort or vendor intervention for updates to plans, roles, or exceptions. This has historically slowed business operations and impacted trust. Performio states that AI is now enabling the industry to deliver on its long-held promise of simplified incentive compensation management.
The Performio AI Admin Assistant functions as a built-in expert for compensation administrators. It is designed to significantly reduce manual troubleshooting and configuration hours while decreasing support tickets. Through natural language interactions, administrators can analyze their ICM workspace to identify issues, summarize commission disputes and suggest resolutions, understand incentive compensation plans in detail with recommendations for optimization, and navigate the application’s features.
Complementing this, the Performio MCP Server introduces the first implementation of the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) within the ICM industry. This allows users to interact with Performio directly through existing AI tools such as Claude Desktop or Salesforce Agentforce, eliminating the need for code or direct navigation within the Performio application. Users can leverage this capability to accelerate month-end closures by initiating calculations, monitoring progress, and fetching logs; inspect plans, data flows, and calculations with full traceability; streamline data imports; and automate routine workflows. Performio’s MCP toolchain will be available to support organizations investing in their own AI enablement from day one.
Grayson Morris, CEO of Performio, emphasized the transformative potential, stating, “AI is finally allowing us to fully deliver on the promise the ICM industry has been making for years: to make managing incentive compensation simple. With our new AI Admin Assistant and MCP Server, we’re well on our way to turning incentive comp from an administrative burden into a strategic advantage.” This launch marks the initial phase of Performio’s strategy to integrate AI fundamentally into its products rather than as an auxiliary feature.
Performio anticipates AI playing a central role in the day-to-day configuration of incentive compensation, allowing administrators to focus on verifying accuracy. The company asserts that true automation in ICM will stem from systems architected with AI at their core, not merely from add-on assistants. Performio’s component-based architecture, built on an Adaptable ICM Core™, is designed to provide the flexible data management and structured plans necessary for explainable and traceable AI-driven automation, keeping human oversight intact.
Dmitri Korablev, CTO of Performio, added, “Our Adaptable ICM Core makes it possible for AI to work the way our customers do — understanding their data, their plans, and their processes. With these releases, we’re building the foundation for AI that doesn’t just answer questions, but actually helps run incentive compensation with accuracy and transparency.” Performio’s internal teams are already utilizing AI agents based on this architecture for plan and workspace configuration, reportedly saving over 20 hours per week, with these agents slated for customer release soon.
These new capabilities are intended to shift the role of compensation administrators from system maintenance to optimization. The AI Admin Assistant aims to make daily tasks faster and more intuitive, while the MCP Server connects Performio to enterprise-wide AI tools, facilitating hands-free operations. Performio maintains that after decades of anticipation, AI is now enabling incentive compensation software to achieve its original vision of complete automation, transparent accuracy, and empowered decision-making.
Performio is an Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) software designed for complexity and scale, with AI at its core. It offers a no-code plan builder and an extensible data model, enabling enterprises and mid-market companies to automate commissions, enhance transparency, and adapt to changes rapidly. Organizations globally utilize Performio for accurate payouts and actionable insights to drive sales performance.
