Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting has introduced expanded Expert AI capabilities within its CCH Axcess™ Audit suite, aiming to enhance audit engagements by integrating proprietary generative and agentic intelligence into workflows.

The company states that these advancements establish a new standard for intelligent audit, focusing on helping firms accelerate engagements, improve accuracy, and deliver increased value to clients. This initiative addresses the growing complexity and demand for speed faced by audit teams. Cathy Rowe, Senior Vice President and Segment Leader, U.

S. Professional Market, Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, commented, “With Expert AI agentic capabilities in the CCH Axcess Audit suite, we’re setting a new bar for intelligent audit. From document analysis to orchestrated testing, we’re delivering practical AI that changes the pace and precision of engagements.”

Expert AI combines Wolters Kluwer’s domain expertise with advanced artificial intelligence to automate routine steps, analyze complex documents, and surface actionable insights with integrated governance and explainability. Embedded across the CCH Axcess Audit suite, including CCH Axcess™ Engagement, CCH Axcess™ Validate, and Knowledge Coach, auditors will interact with intelligent agents designed to orchestrate workflows, extract key information, and deliver standardized, high-quality analyses tailored to specific clients.

A significant initial release involves the new Document Analysis Agents, described as a breakthrough in audit technology that integrates practical AI into the audit process. These agents are built for complex engagements, utilizing generative AI and large language models to rapidly analyze critical documents such as board minutes, lease agreements, and revenue contracts.

Key features of the Document Analysis Agents include Instant Insights, which aims to transform extensive manual review into actionable summaries in minutes; Risk Spotlighting, designed to automatically highlight crucial risks and findings; and Conversational Intelligence, allowing auditors to interact with agents, ask follow-up questions, and delve deeper into results directly within their workflow. These agents will integrate with CCH Axcess Engagement and CCH Axcess Knowledge Coach to automate document review and improve efficiency and audit quality.

In addition to the Expert AI expansion, Wolters Kluwer is implementing several other enhancements across the CCH Axcess Audit suite. These include CCH Axcess Engagement Analytics, which offers AI-enabled testing and dynamic data visualizations within CCH Axcess Engagement Pro; New Audit APIs to automate engagement setup, workpaper management, and trial balance integration; the global expansion of CCH Validate for secure, cloud-native audit confirmations in multiple countries; and Migration Tools with expanded support for seamless transitions to CCH Axcess, including increased trial balance complexity handling.

Erin Leckie, Vice President, Product Management, Global Audit, Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, stated, “We’re delivering the capabilities firms have asked for — agentic workflows, AI-powered analytics, and seamless integrations — so auditors can move faster with confidence. From multi-tiered consolidations and automated ratio analysis to tighter connections with TeamMate Analytics and Document Linker, we’re redefining how firms deliver value and ensure compliance.”

Attendees at the 2025 CCH Connections User Conference will have the opportunity to experience these agentic capabilities through live demonstrations and expert briefings at Innovation Stations. Wolters Kluwer will showcase how CCH Axcess Audit contributes to the future of intelligent audit.
