Suralink, a prominent client collaboration platform for accountants, has announced new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for its Workpaper Suite and Assessment Hub, aimed at streamlining engagement workflows and improving efficiency for accounting firms.

These advancements integrate automation and AI directly into engagement processes, addressing what Suralink identifies as the “Client Readiness Gap.” According to Evan Fitzpatrick, CEO of Suralink, these solutions are designed to “redefine how accounting teams manage engagements” by embedding AI into existing workflows. This approach helps reduce friction, allowing firms to increase capacity and concentrate on higher-value tasks while maintaining accuracy and client trust.

Suralink’s Workpaper Suite, which has previously reported a 35% time savings in workpaper preparation and review, now features several additions to enhance testing and review capabilities. These include Advanced Data Matching, which enables vouching and tracing procedures with customizable tolerance ranges and close-match thresholds, and Sum Finder, which automates the verification of footing and cross-footing in financial statements. The suite also incorporates Enhanced Table Linking and Enhanced Linking Capabilities for more efficient data extraction from various document types.

Further AI capabilities are planned for Workpaper Suite, such as “Ask Anything in Excel,” allowing users to query multiple client documents and retrieve cited information directly within Excel, and “Extract Anything,” which will facilitate the instant pulling of structured data from diverse file types into workpapers without manual entry or templates.

Assessment Hub, another Suralink solution, continues to see strong adoption, with users reporting a 50% time savings during document review and collaboration. Firms highlight features like the File Previewer, Pinned Comments, and “Ask Anything” as instrumental in optimizing their workflows.

Sarah Slager, CPA and Senior Associate at Katz, Sapper & Miller, noted the immediate impact of Assessment Hub on her firm, stating, “We’re spending less time reviewing supporting client documentation and have eliminated the drawn-out back-and-forth that used to slow down engagements.” Andrew Strack, Assurance Associate at Dean Dorton, added, “Assessment Hub has delivered an immediate and measurable impact on our efficiency… The ability to leverage tools like the File Previewer and enhanced communication features has allowed us to significantly reduce time spent on documentation review. We have accelerated our engagements and achieved a meaningful reduction in our overall workflow cycle time.”

These platform enhancements underscore Suralink’s commitment to providing accounting firms with secure and intelligent systems designed to deliver faster, higher-quality engagements. Suralink’s platform is utilized by over 800,000 users globally, centralizing request and document management while supporting workpaper preparation and review.
