BitGo MENA FZE, a digital asset infrastructure company, has obtained a Broker-Dealer licence from the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), enabling it to provide regulated digital asset trading and intermediation services to institutional clients across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

With this approval, institutional investors can now utilize BitGo’s integrated OTC trading desk and electronic trading platform for spot trading in numerous digital assets and stablecoins. The platform offers aggregated access to extensive liquidity from multiple top-tier market makers and exchanges, aiming to ensure competitive pricing, reliable execution, and institutional-grade security.

Ben Choy, General Manager of BitGo MENA, stated that securing the broker-dealer license represents a significant milestone for the company and underscores its dedication to compliance. He highlighted Dubai’s regulatory environment as progressive and emphasized that the approval would allow BitGo to serve institutional clients with enhanced scale, confidence, and integrity. Choy also noted the increasing momentum within Dubai’s digital asset ecosystem, crediting VARA’s framework for setting a global standard for responsible innovation.

Nick Coombs, Managing Director of MENA Sales, commented on the integration of institutional-grade trading services with BitGo’s VARA-regulated and insured custody infrastructure. He noted that clients would benefit from competitive pricing, efficient execution, deep liquidity, and support for both AED and USD. Coombs added that with local banking facilities, BitGo is positioned to offer a tailored, high-performance trading experience designed for the MENA region, aiming to establish a new standard for institutional trading.

BitGo’s operational framework, which includes delivering custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services from regulated cold storage, aligns with VARA’s comprehensive regulatory framework. This framework is designed to protect investors, maintain market integrity, and foster the sustainable growth of the digital asset economy. Founded in 2013, BitGo has focused on accelerating the transition of the financial system to a digital asset economy, serving thousands of institutions globally.
