UiPath, a global leader in agentic automation, has announced a collaboration with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT and other OpenAI frontier models into enterprise customer workflows. This partnership aims to accelerate the value and return on investment from agentic AI efforts through enhanced automation.
The collaboration will focus on building a ChatGPT connector to blend OpenAI’s frontier models with enterprise workflows, powered by UiPath enterprise orchestration. This integration is designed to simplify AI agent development and deployment, allowing users to concentrate on business objectives rather than complex underlying infrastructure, fostering greater trust in AI agents among process owners. OpenAI models, including the latest update of GPT-5 available in UiPath Agent Builder, already power UiPath agents.
Together, UiPath and OpenAI are establishing a new benchmark for utilizing computer-use models in agentic automation. This benchmark will facilitate the evaluation and comparison of different AI models in their interactions with computer systems. It supports granular testing of agent capabilities through a flexible, extensible framework tailored for practical enterprise scenarios, with the ability to expand as agents evolve.
UiPath Maestro will orchestrate UiPath, OpenAI, and other third-party AI agents within business processes, unlocking the potential of Large Action Models (LAMs) for enterprises. Process owners can build, manage, and optimize their business processes using UiPath Maestro’s unified interface, ensuring the deployment of appropriate agents for each task and accelerating agentic automation initiatives.
Additionally, UiPath will enhance ChatGPT users’ automation capabilities via an MCP integration. This will allow users within ChatGPT Enterprise to access available unattended automations, API workflows, autonomous agents, and Maestro workflows directly. As more organizations adopt ChatGPT, UiPath aims to accelerate their AI automation efforts by pairing with enterprise-grade agentic automation and orchestration.
Graham Sheldon, Chief Product Officer at UiPath, commented on the initiative, stating, “Our platform helps enterprises at every step of their agentic transformation. Whether identifying critical and repetitive processes or building AI agents and orchestrating workflows, we’re focused on enabling our customers to realize impact and ROI from their Agentic AI efforts. ChatGPT’s popularity and industry-leading models, together with the richness of our platform, makes it a natural fit for the many enterprise customers we share.”
Giancarlo “GC” Lionetti, Chief Commercial Officer at OpenAI, added, “We’re moving fast on computer-use agents for enterprises, and evaluations are how we measure progress and set higher standards. Working with UiPath lets us deliver enterprise-grade evaluations and push the industry forward.”
